Congrats on 1955-1965

Since 1965, Ole Miss has more wins and bowl game success than MSU.

more money

Your sentence got cut off. I know you meant to type "more money going to lawyers to defend the school against the NCAA, Tom Mars, and anyone else who dare impugn the integrity of Ole Miss athletics."

That is a very stupid comeback.

more fan support

Untrue by any real measure. Take a random 3Q photo from any home game played last year and get back to me.

Are you saying a single season 3Q image of a stadium the year Ole Miss fired their coach is a "real measure"?

Come on, man.

better national brand

Ole Miss has been trying to run away from their "brand" since the mid 90s.

They've been trying to distance themselves from Colonel Reb and the confederacy. They still have a far more well-known brand nationally than MSU. Its not close.

I get where you’re coming from, but if you take the colors and logos off the jerseys you would be hardpressed to find many Ole Miss fans that wouldn’t trade our past 10 years and future 10 years for theirs. Scandals and all included.

I always like these threads. Because no matter how much either sides care too admit; we are much more alike off the field than we are different and that’s the God’s honest truth.

The culture of the two schools is not very much alike. That is kind of ridiculous.

All the rich preppy kids from Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Memphis that couldn't get into better schools go to Ole Miss. Over 50% of their students are from out of state.

Source: I went to Ole Miss and have several friends that went to State and visited plenty.

Historically and potentially, Ole Miss. Currently, State.

^^^THIS^^^

Historically its Ole Miss and its not even close.... since the early '70s though, the programs are for the most part indistinguishable.

In All-Time AP Poll points, Ole Miss ranks #24 nationally.... Mississippi State comes in at #66

Since 1971, Ole Miss comes in at #51 and Mississippi St comes in at #52

I would say State's future looks a tad bit brighter right now though.

Overall Ole Miss has a better athletic program and is competitive in more sports on a more regular basis than MSU. Hotty Toddy > Hail State.

Is it? How many millions have your administration spent to date on the NCAA case?

No, I'm saying that at just about any football game you play, unless it's LSU or Alabama, your stadium is empty by the third quarter because it's time to go back to the grove and drink. It's stupid to brag about more fans - because you don't have them. State has the larger enrollment, and the larger alumni base. You're basing your statement on your football stadium having 3,000 more seats in it...which you only got by throwing up some cheap-arse high school metal bleachers in the endzone after State expanded their stadium. You don't even fill your stadium to begin with.

Your program is a joke, your brand is a joke, your financial advantages are perceived, your culture is cancerous, and your boosters are corrupt. Where the two programs sit today, MSU is in a much healthier position, and it's not even debatable. Maybe your historical records will keep you warm at night, though.

All the Mississippi kids that went to both Ole Miss and State lived the same lives up to college. I'm not comparing those OOS shits that couldn't get into state schools.

I know I did not expect the topic to be so popular. I like seeing threads that don't involve a retarded argument between LSU and A&M from time to time.

Last 25 years State has been the better program and owns the series record 13-12. Nobody cares about who won in 1955.

This is the kind of comment I read and just shake my head with a smile...

Last 25 years, but then jumps back to 1955? Okay, what about the past 35 years? That doesn’t reach back to 1955 does it? Past 35 years, OM owns record 19-15. Past 45 years OM owns record 25-20.

I think it’s just funny the specific 25 year mark you chose which conveniently worked out in St’s favor by 1 game, but if we roll that clock back to 1983 or 1973, not 1955, the stats paint a different picture.

Anyways, carry on.

Ole Miss was/is a better brand than State.

State is a better program than Ole Miss in the last five seconds.

This is the truth, whether it makes people mad or not. MSU doesn't have the commitment to football. Never have.

Sometimes we think we do, but that's only proof that we don't understand the commitment. Football has never been as important to MSU as to other SEC institutions, including OM. Historical records prove the point.
