Figured I start a thread on how our Rebs are doing in professional sports. I just want to have somewhere on the board we can talk about the current and continuing careers of athletes that our school puts out.

I'll start by talking about some rebels in the NFL since the offseason trades are going off right now.

Donte Moncrief (my mane)- Expected to sign a one year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Upgrade in the team, but downgrade for QB and offense for a WR. He's a consistent WR, but not a superstar. I think he is a great down field blocker, always has been since Ole Miss. I think this is what the Jags want from him, and why they signed him.

Eli Manning- Just got one of the best left tackles in the game, and they're adding to the running game in NY. Things should get better for him.

Chad Kelly- I'm the most excited to see what happens with Swag. I live right outside of Denver and listen to all the local sports radio. The Broncos fan base LOVES Chad Kelly. But the Denver Broncos front office and coaches don't know about him. He hasn't been able to show them much since being injured. He will either get a chance to compete in training camp with Case Keenum, and another QB, or he will get cut before truing camp because they won't have room for him. I think if the Broncos draft a QB, Chads gone. If the Broncos draft a QB, they'll have to decide between Lynch and Chad Kelly, and they will go with Lynch imo, because Lynch was a first rounder, Chad was the last pick in the draft, and the investment by the broncos runs a lot deeper with Paxton Lynch. I hope Chad lights it up where ever he ends up, and I hope he's an NFL starter within the next two years. Though he's still on the Broncos, He's kinda in limbo right now.

Anyone know what Marshall Henderson is up too? Also I'm sure theres some baseball players playin spring ball right now. I haven't followed many baseball players once they're gone from OM, but I'd love to hear about them if anyone knows anything.

Mike Mayers is having a solid spring with the Cardinals and a chance to make the team out of spring training. I don't think he will, but he'll definitely be up at some point this year.

Lance Lynn signed with the Twins last week.

Zack Cozart signed with the Angels in the offseason and I think will mainly be playing 3B for them.

Drew Pomeranz is hurt right now for the Red Sox. Not serious, but he may not be ready for opening day.

Those are the main ones I can think of in MLB but I know there are more.

What do y’all think about Jordan Wilkins in the draft this year? Do you think he gets picked around maybe 4th-5th round? Or FA? I think with the right program he could be a decent 3rd down back. I hate it for him that he got cut a year short because of the screwups in the office. But he came back fired up and balling out. I believe he carried that chip all year and it showed being aggressive. Gonna miss him.

Also glad to see Hilton light it up when he got his chance. What about Senquez? Is he done since he’s hardly played because of injuries? And I assume Prewitt hung it up? Thought he would fit somewhere decent but not have been the size teams were looking for. Honestly have no clue.

And last I heard about Henderson, he was lighting it up overseas. Probably literally also.

I honestly didn’t see Jordan Wilkins getting drafted. He just doesn’t have the build to be an NFL back imo. But my mind changed a little after he got a combine invite. If he gets drafted, I would think it’d be 5th or later rounds.

Last I heard of Golson, was he had a try out with the TB Buccs. I think he’s now back to being a free agent now. It sounds like injuries have gotten the best of him. I think Someone will probably pick him up for training camp and see how he does. I don’t see him going out cold without another shot.

I’m guessing Cody Prewitt hung it up. He was realeased by the Titans two years ago. Winnipeg Blubombers, have him on their neg list, which basically means he’s not on the team, but if he were to join the CFL, they have the rights to him. Him and Wilkins remind me of the same kinda player. Both were great college players for us especially toward the end of their careers, but neither one seems like a NFL guy. I think they both hit their ceilings their senior years at OM.

Don't think he's playing anywhere right now according to this article. Long read but pretty good.

Appreciate the info. Yeah with Wilkins, it’s kinda hard to project with him. He has the heart and dedication, but in the NFL you’re gonna need more than that. Hope he does get drafted though and gets to at least see what he can do. Gonna have to have a decent oline wherever though.

And that is a good read on Henderson. I wouldn’t mind 5 replicas of him on our team. That boy could rustle anyone lol.

Aaron Barrett is still with the Nats, but I don’t think he’s pitched since that freak elbow break.
He was solid before the injury though.

I read yesterday that Chad and the QB free agent they just signed are likely the only 2 QB's that the Broncos will start the OTA's with.

Paxton Lynch really sucks. Like, there’s something off. He’s got the mindset of a 14 year old. He would have back yard sleepovers and tickle fights and shite with his “entourage” when he was at Memphis. Weird shite. I won’t be surprised if Swag passes him on the depth chart

Errol is the no. 20th prospect for the Dodgers I believe. Actually hit a GS last night with the org he’s playing with.

Yes, and they like him quite a bit. It will be interesting to see how much they do when they draft high.

Pretty happy the Broncos and Giants didn’t draft a QB last night. Gives Eli and Swag more of chance.

Wouldn’t have minded had they pulled the trade. Giants have glaring needs. While saquon is great talent, would have much preferred getting 3-4 additional picks for him.

The fit is bad for 2018-19, but Barkley was probably the best player in the draft. It’s not like Zeke or Gurley won’t have bad season/haven’t already had bad seasons, and Barkley is supposed to be as good or better. The Giants can spend the rest of the draft working on both lines

At this point though, frick the Giants. The Maras let Ben McAdoo bench Eli for Geno fricking Smith. Screw ‘em all from top to bottom, but I’ll definitely root for Eli and Evan, and Saquon. I’m a Cheesehead by trade though
