What's the deal with the hyphenated last names at KY? Wilbert Gilchrest-Jones... Michael Schuster-Simonson... whatever. One and done - garbage model.

Sacha Killeya-Jones' mothers name is Ley Killeya-Jones and his fathers's name is Reggie Jones... so he's named after his parents.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexanders parents names are Charmaine Gilgeous and Vaughn Alexander... so he's also named after his parents.

This would be easy enough for you to look up and it's really weird that you even care enough to make a thread about it.

Fun fact: Gilgeous-Alexanders mom ran track at Alabama in college.

I get that the parents are trying to do their claim on the child, sort of, but it's a one and done strategy. You're basically making them do something different when they have kids, because you can't end up with 8 hyphens going for the grandkids.

Lol, have you been paying attention to the culture trends in this country? We will surely see a 3-4 hyphen last name in the next ten years.

Acting like it’s not already a thing in Spanish culture

I was going to say, it’s really common in Latin America and Spanish cultures. Not really a big deal.

Seems like pretentious douchery to deflect from a sleazy model.

You're right, I have run across a ton of people in South America with 5 or 6 names. But it's annoying. To do basically anything filling out a form, you are picking a few to not use.

I have less of a problem with hyphenated last names than I do with non-Irish names with apostrophes and multiple capital letters.

*not racist, just saying*
