No, I'm just saying that in the specific cases we are discussing (Marshall with Phish and Hunter with the Dead), the lyricist is an integral part of the band and all of their work is basically with that one band. Which is different than buying a set of lyrics you think sound cool and then recording it (which I have no problem with from a purely enjoying the way a song sounds standpoint).
I don't really care if it's jam bands, country, rock, etc. I have a pretty wide variety of musical interests.

Does it matter who wrote the lyrics for Christian bands if no one ever hears their songs?

This is too perfect. Do you have any idea how many Christain themes are in your god's (the gratful dead) lyrics?
Do you even realize that when you dance your little limp-wristed hippie gay-boy jig to the song Ripple that you are dancing to the 23rd Psalm of the Bible?
Probably not. Ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Grow up, retard.

If people don't hear them it is only because they have closed their minds, and not because Christian music isn't good.
You like loud?
Invincible-Skillet
Adrenaline- 12 Stones
Money&Fame-NeedToBreathe
Softer but still good?
Maginify-We Are Messengers
The River Jordan Feliz
There is a lot of really good music that Christians put out, but the people that call Christians closed minded will never listen to it, because......they are closed minded.

This hilarious development reminds me of that scene from the movie "Idiocracy". Anybody ever seen it?
Where the two hippie characters high on zombie drugs are eating spinach burgers and having a conversation about how lame and uncool Christians are and how Christian music sucks.
And then just as their braindead stoner laughter about Christains sucking starts to turn into snorting sounds......that Grateful Dead hit song Samson & Delilah comes on, and they start doing their spastic effiminate hippie dances and give each other high 5 talking about how much they love this tune called Samson and Delilah from olden times about a guy getting a haircut.
Such a classic scene.

You know more about the Grateful Dead than I do, and you aren’t even a fan.
Far out, man.

Ha ha ha ha. Yet another of "their" songs that they even didn't write.
Classic! The only thing that would of been better is if you'd used another one of their many many Christian, biblical, gospel songs that they cover or have outside lyrics contractors write for them. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha.

Out of curiosity, when you listen to music do you get bent out of shape about who wrote it or who is playing it or do you just enjoy it for what it is?

... and no one (except you apparently) cares because it's awesome.

Who's getting bent out of shape? I'm just sifting through the facts.
For instance:
You and the other flower children will shite on bro country as formulaic and unoriginal, but then simultaneously strango-jerk to the grateful dead and praise them for being formulaic and unoriginal. Or you'll snort-laugh at chowder cartoons making fun of CHristian music, but then you'll dance gay-boy jigs and give high 5s when the grateful dead plays Christian music.
These are just facts. Inconvenient and hilarious ones that the flower power kidz don't like apparently.

I have never heard any music that I like as much as Grateful Dead music, which makes it original to at least some degree. All modern music is taking elements of what came before and doing different things with them. Nothing wrong with that. Also, I’ll shite on whatever I want to, thank you very much.

To each his own. Bro country and Grateful Dead music both cause me pain. I like the style lot of old country rock like Poco and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Whiskytown and some later Ryan Adams music is pleasing.
My favorite music on video is the Roger Waters in the Flesh concert from Rose Garden Arena, Portland, OR filmed in June 2000. The guitar players on that video, Doyle Bramhall II, Snowy White, Andy Fairweather Low and Jon Carin, are all terrific. Not present and not missed was the great David Gilmour.
