For beef, Texas style BBQ is great.
For pork, I'll go with Memphis style BBQ though.

Memphis bbq is good. Me and my family went to rondezvous in downtown a few years back and I wasn't impressed. I told then we should hAve went to some little hole in the wall bc that's usually where you get the best bbq, but they wanted to go there. It was alright, but I've had better bbq in baton Rouge honestly.
It also would be tough to beat Missouri as a state with st Louis and Kansas city represented there. Kc is known for its bbq.

This is what the rest of the US doesn't understand about BBQ, and why Texas is the greatest. We've stolen all your pork styles, and you've never been able to steal how to do a brisket properly. The BBQ culture in Texas is just superior. Go to Franklin and get some pork ribs, they are amazing. Go to Truth and get the beef rib. Go to Cattleack and get the brisket. It's just all so superior to anything you'll get in Dixie or the rest of the South, I genuinely feel bad for y'all.
