You do not have a better SEC college town than we do.

This is a mountain park, with mountain biking, in the city limits.
Kessler Mountain Regional Park
Its accessible from a 60 miles paved pathway network in Fayetteville that looks like this:
This is a view of our bar district, taken from on campus, heading up to Mount Sequoyah.
Here's how the city sits among the hills, downtown on the right, edge of campus on the left.
The town square looks like this:
This overlook is 3 minutes from downtown:
This is an hour east:
This is 25 minutes north:
This is an hour NE:
We have festivals year round like this:
A 40-something year old weekly Farmer's Market that is one of the best in the country:
A botanical garden:
Two different weekly summer free concert series in city parks:
A full slate of Broadway shows and performances year round downtown here:
And that's barely scratching the surface.

You don't think every SEC town has all of those items?

Lol @ calling those "mountains".
Johnson City is more of a college town based on that alone.

Fayetteville is my favorite SEC city.

True...but Johnson City is a pretty awesome college town in its own right.
Go Bucs...

They've definitely upgraded. Having lived there for 25 years, obviously, I have a different take lol

You make a pretty compelling argument, but you didn't use very good pictures. Fayetteville is a lot prettier than most of those pictures capture. The one from Kessler Mountain Regional Park showing the city among the hills is one I had not seen, though.
Being set IN the hills deliberately is one thing unique to Fayetteville. There is plenty of flatter land to the west and to the north, but the founders chose to keep the city set in the hills, which is pretty cool.

You also can't really capture the Washington-Willow historic district, or the Mount Nord historic district, or the vibe of Wilson Park and the surrounding neighborhood in a few google search images.
Nevertheless, here's a couple good ones of that fall fog we often get hung up in the hills and hollows:

Damn you. We are trying to keep house prices down here.
That having been said... Fayetteville (and NW Arkansas for that matter) is the weird case of better to live here then visit.
Its fine for a visit, but when you live here the combo of super heated economy, low cost of living, and wonderful scenery really adds up.

Please. Keep saying this to anyone who will listen.
NW Arkansas is a hell hole. Do not move there. Do not buy up property at inflated rates. Do not lower the generally quite high level of education. Do not replenish our dwindling stock of white trash.
Georgia is where they filmed Deliverance. Men raping other men appeals to much of the SEC fan base. Move to Georgia and hope that one day you too can rape Ned Beatty.

Driving Monica. Actually, Ponca is 1:15 east of Fayetteville, per Google maps (going the speed limit).

The problem is that your college is in Arkansas. Nobody goes to Arkansas. The only thing people who are not from Arkansas do is fly OVER Arkansas to get to somewhere else.

A) Having cool things an hour away does not make your college town great, it makes those areas around you great.
B) I actually like Fayettville but come on man, can you really with a straight face say it is the best in the SEC, much less the west?

LOL. Fayetteville is easily the best college town in the SEC West. Athens is the only better one in the SEC, depending on your metric.
