6 years ago, LSU and Bama were equals

People imagined a future where these two titans of college football would battle for the next decade for dominance of the SEC. The Mad Hatter seemed equal to Saban in his ability to recruit, and was playing for his 2nd championship in 5 years.
Everything was going fine, until that fateful championship. LSU imploded. Their inability to switch QBs and to trot out Jordan Jefferson changed everything. The decline started, but few realized it at the time. LSU fans proclaimed that the next year was in fact their year, and Bama would lag after their title.
2012 happens, and Alabama wins another championship, coming from behind to beat LSU as well.
Since then it has been hit after hit for the LSU program. They failed to make big splashes in hiring coaches. They hired O, they watched at TAMU hired their dream hire. They have had to bear witness to two more championships by Alabama.
Hit after hit.
The irony is, Saban changed QBs this year, and LSU didn't. Wonder how the college football world would be different without 21-0. Now all we get are daily melts about the refs. You never hear about the great talent/scheme/coaching/gameplans than LSU is about to unleash next year. Gone are the dominating linebackers. Gone are the ballhawking secondaries. Even their running backs don't match up to Alabama's, Georgia's, Auburn's.
Keep on making ref thread Ti8ers. Can't wait until next year.

Saban went to a 5 Star
Les’s only other option was Jarrett fricking Lee

Miles didn’t have a Tua on the bench.
He had an Avalos.

Oh, how the times have changed.

Les Miles’ ultimate demise was refusing to change the offensive identity. He still wanted to play grown man, old school offense while everyone else was changing with the times. That’s why they struggled against Alabama. You can’t bully a bigger, stronger, faster bully. And you can’t recruit the best athletes if you don’t showcase their abilities.

Your thread makes zero sense considering Jaret fricking lee was the qb on the bench.
I know you are trying to troll. It doesn’t work.

Yeah a 5 star throwing to OBJ and Jarvis Landry is hardly the same as frickin Jarrett Lee doing it lol

Unless y'all decide to hire tree killer y'all shouldn't have to worry about that anytime soon.

It also killed LSU when Ryan Perrilloux was kicked off...
He was the future.
Instead, Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee were pushed into the fire...

Tru but as a consolation, we did outgain you in yardage, were not pushed around by your DL and were responsible for most of your injury issues...and you made this post so because of our roster, we’re not totally irrelevant as some of these other sh!ttalkers are.

He would have been gone after 08 anyway. He only delayed the inevitable, there was zero QB development to speak of after Jimbo left. JJ and Lee would have been just as bad

What's scary is that after all the bad stuff that has happened to LSU since 1-9-12 they are still winning 9+ games a year with a shrimp boat captain. If LSU ever gets a real coach the SEC will be screwed.

Best pass rushing linebacker in the SEC in Arden Key, second best inside linebacker in Devin White. Deion Jones, Kwon Alexander, and Kendall Beckwirh killing it in the NFL.
Two corners being drafted this year. Number 1 safety drafted last year. Number 1 corner expected to sign with LSU this year. Number 1 safety signed last year. Number 3 safety signed a week ago. Probably have the best corner in the SEC next year in Greedy Williams who lead the SEC in interceptions.
Number 1 SEC runningback for two years straight in Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice.
Coaching staff is absolute trash though.

The theme of the thread was that Saban made some great move that Miles didn't do.
Tua was better than anything LSU had put together to go in that game.
Hurts was fricking awful and by most accounts too was better so it wasn't improbable that he could help the team that night.
It was improbable that Jarret fricking lee would do anything positive that night considering his history vs bama.
Not sure why you have to be assholes towards LSU fans. I really enjoyed watching your QB play the other day and respect the awesome comeback. But Bama fans have done nothing but troll since then
If you are acting like LSU is talentless then you aren't really paying attention also.

Perhaps the singular linchpin event was misidentified, but that didn't make the cascade of aftereffects not happen.

frick i hate it when you Mfers are right. But basically you are correct. Saban was willing to adapt and Les was not
