I am the opposite. What makes me happy about this hire is how well he's done without elite talent and how quickly ND improved. I fully expect to be competitive on defense vs anyone. Sure there will be games that get out of hand here or there, but we won't ever score 50+ and lose.

ND went from to 378.8/27.8 to 369.2/21.5. So its a small improvement in yards, but a significant one in points. Not to mention the '16 ND team faced an SOS of 57 while the '17 squad faced the 2nd toughest in the land.

Agree to a point.

but I still stand by thought that Texas no longer places enough emphasis on defense and we are seeing high school players who are significantly behind their offensive counterparts.

The wonderful thing is we both get what we want!

Really I feel like he is a 11/10 hire.
