Nope. Alabama is one of best programs of all time. They beat the #1 team in the country. I can't think of another team that deserves to be there more than they do.

We beat Oklahoma and the top independent in the country.
We've won the seccg and the rose bowl.
I don't think there's any anger in the fan base about our opponents or our season.

We are thrilled to be in the game and recognize that we're going to have to knock off Bama eventually if we're going to be recognized as one of the top programs in the nation. No time like the present to do so.

When LSU won their national title in 2003 (their first championship "in awhile"), they didn't play a conference champ (Oklahoma). Kansas State won the Big 12.
Actually, LSU beat an OU team with a heisman trophy winner QB to win the title.
UGA's already done that, so I'd argue UGA's title would be more impressive.
