There’s no doubt Elko is a solid get for DC.

Aranda called aTm but then said "No, thanks"

What's hard to believe? Before he called, he was making about 1.5M per year. After we offered 6M over 3 years, yall countered with 10M over 4 years, and then he told us no thanks. That's what happened, and there is nothing remotely unbelievable about that - except that yall were to guarantee him 10M.

Yeah, I think most Ags are pleased with the hire.
It’s no secret his name was amongst the top candidates’.
Now it’s time for these gentlemen to earn their keep.

Okay. Whatever you need to believe sweetheart. Meanwhile, y’all may have made a good hire while you’re still obsessing over the LSU DC.

This is a solid hire.

Good coach. How is his recruiting? 4-3 or 3-4 preferred?

Why does neither article mention how much A&M paid?

If he legitimately initiated contact with aTm, he'd be there. Period.

But go ahead and choose to believe your version of the story if it helps you accept the outcome.

Did we just help Aranda pimp LSU's checkbook, only to hire the guy Fisher wanted all along?

I think we’d have been happy with the 4th or 5th names/candidates as well.
The top 5 were all great candidates.
But Elko it is.
