But I thought Matt Luke won the locker room and was keeping players?

If you believed this and supported this hire, you're an idiot.

Surely, we will not lose any players on the OL.

If Bjork doesnt try and fight back about this attorney crap, then he is the biggest pussy AD ive ever seen and should be immediately fired. (Even though he should have been already) There is no way this would fly at any other SEC school

Chad Morris would be doing so much better....

We’d be so much better off paying him $7M a year like you suggested and having everyone transfer and have 0 commits for ‘18 and no leads for the ‘19 class. That would be badass.

Every time I look around and realise Ross Bjork is still the AD at Ole Miss my jaw hits the floor. How is it possible?

I would take a competent head coach with experience over someone that has never been a coach and who was hired specifically to keep players from transferring. And he can't even do that.
We would be better off with an actual head coach than a glorified offensive line coach

Matt Luke was hired because Ross was turned down by all of our primary options. The transfers were part of it but y’all keep acting like we were a premier job opening this offseason. No one we wanted was coming.

I don’t get the Bjork hate. He has raised more money for the athletic dept than anyone else. The NCAA was going to nail us regardless of what we did. Fight back cost us more money and piss them off they probably hit us with more. Pete Boone would have self imposed a death penalty just to not have to deal with it.

Matt Luke is being paid more than Mike Norvell got after his raise, someone please explain that to me. If you double Norvell’s pay, he’s coming. And Ross was able to raise more money than any AD because we were good at football. So who knows, maybe he knew about the cheating and was ok with it cause it made his job easier and he thought he could get a better gig before getting caught. He might have raised more money in the past, but let’s see how much money he brings in the next 2-3 years

Norvell failed a background check. Also why tenn didn’t go after him.

People keep saying this. What did he fail? Why did Memphis up his pay if he failed? Why hasn't there been even so much as a whisper about it on any Memphis sports radio shows?

"Failed background check" means "We offered, he said no, so now we have to look good".

For one we hired Luke before we even knew what our punishment was, which makes no sense. How could we know realistically who would take it without being able to tell them what our punishment is going to be.

Most of the other sec schools were turned down by their primary targets. I didn't see anybody else jump to hire their OL coach because their primary target wasn't interested.

Our recruiting class consists of a hand full of 3* players so I doubt we are that concerned about hanging on to those couple of recruits.

The only reason left to hire Luke is to keep players from leaving and yet here they go.

If Shea is truly calling players to transfer with him, frick him. I’d have been cool with him going on his way, respects and best wishes, but if this is true... That’s like the guy who leaves a company and tells everybody to quit or leave with him.

I have a hard time believing he turned town Tennessee, Ole Miss and Arkansas to stay at Memphis.

Memphis paid up because they didn't want to lose their head coach

The fact is no one brought into this situation could make sure everyone stays.

I would bet that Luke can keep more than an any outsider.

I would think that's almost a necessity for OM HC.
