awww, this is true of anyone.
Can you imagine Norvell with a top 10 ncaa D cord...
Or Venables (Yes dude, I did it) with a top 10 O cord...
and some assistants that can cruit/coach.
I can only imagine... Hasn't happened here yet!

This game is literally the #1 and #2 scoring offenses in the country going against each other. Not sure why anyone expected either team to be shut down or close to it.

That's my point. Alot of guys saying I want so and so. If Gus norvell or kiffin has bad def coordinator or a def head coach with bad off coordinator it is still not going to work.

Only thing I don't like is he's tried to get cute near the goal line twice with reverse passes that failed.
That's because there is no real running game in the direction we are headed. It's just something you do occasionally, so the defense doesn't drop 7 or 8 in coverage every down. We are turning our back on that part of our history, and the success that great running backs from Clyde Scott to Darren McFadden.
We'll probably never be called running back U again, but if we win, who cares?

Dude Memphis runs the ball. Have you been watching this game at all?
One of their running backs is averaging like 9 yards a carry

But which of those guys we are talking about have actually worked with a top coordinator on the other side of the ball?
Only Kiffin and Venables.
Often times we have seen that an amazing offensive coordinator, or defensive coordinator, ended up being hampered by the style of play on the other side. Kiffin and Venables have both shown that they can still produce the best offense or defense despite or in conjunction with good production on the other side of the ball.
Those should be the two top candidates.

They average 200 rushing ypg. They have a 1000 yard rusher and a 700 yard rusher this year in 11 games
ETA: As obsessed as you are with facts, you seem to ignore a lot of them.

I mean ya, that would be fine with me

All the new spread guys run the ball. The air raid is antiquated.

UCF looked like Hogs defense there.

Either approach works. If you have a guy that can put a defense on its heals with his arm, the running game becomes a big yardage play. Example being Miles Davis for Arkansas. Ran for like 1,600 yards gaining most of them during the second half of the season when defenses had adjusted to Petrino's passing attack.

I'm not ignoring the fact that they play in the AAC. What does that 200 yards per game equate to in the SEC, 75 or so?

Not to knock what Kiffin is doing, and I've come around to being fine with him as the next head coach, but Norvell is hanging in there with UCF. I dare say UCF is quite a bit better then North Texas.
Honestly, I think UCF and Memphis could clown quite a few SEC teams this year.

Yes, AAC talent vs AAC talent. His point clearly wasn't that he would come in and average 200 yards a game at Arkansas.

We'd better hope so.
