Arkansas has not contacted him. Part of his reasoning for today was to get the attention of a job he wants to let them know he is available. Bridges were burned today and I don't know if they'll be able to be fixed. Boone is going down in his health, so he isn't the factor he once was, even five years ago.

This is relatively surprising to me. Mike has committed to building a property in Stillwater that is amazing. His parents are there. His youngest is a great baseball player, his middle is the QB for Stillwater, and his oldest Gage is at Arkansas.

Mike feels like he has topped out at what he can do at OSU. He loses quite a bit off of this years team and he wants to get rid of assistants that he has great relationships with.

I don't understand why we wouldn't at least make him an offer.

I'm not convinced Tenn is a better job right now.

Tennessee hasn't been a better job since 2004.

Agree.

Right now, there isn't a coach worth a crap that wants any part of that university.

If we could get Gundy and move to the Big 12 at the same time, that would be ideal.

Which, is almost unbelievable. For those of us old enough to remember the Fulmer days...the teams that he had were flat out ridiculous on both sides of the ball.

We would immediately be more competitive in football and it's a better basketball conference. The only reason for staying in the SEC is "money."

I got my SEC money check this week and it was only $130. How much is everybody else getting?

My grandpa use to say Minnesota wouldn't be down forever.

When Holtz was hired by SCAR followed by Spurrier, they lost recruiting territory, Now Clemson and the NC schools have improved.

When Louisville rose to prominence along with the new Florida school it saturated an already over saturated Florida.

UGA hired Richt and shored up the home land, Smart is going to continue that part for the program.

It really isn't unbelievable, they were cherry picking fertile recruiting grounds owned by "basketball first" schools, a mediocre UGA/LSU/Miami.

Minnesota was a powerhouse back in the day, then the home state schools at the source of their talent starting giving a shite about football and they have never recovered...

Just wishful thinking. Our administration would rather lose in the SEC than win in the Big 12. They don't care about the fans actually experiencing championships. They just care about paying themselves more.

If true, they were willing to pay out the arse for him. Mike just got a new contract in July. He doesn't have an agent and does it all on his own. His buyout is $13mil.

Factor in his first year, buyout, what Tenn is paying Butch, and then whatever Schiano is about to sue their arse for.

No way that is the real offer. That number is being floated out to say..."If you want me, it is going to take just a bit more"

It's clear that Gundy prefers Arkansas basically over most any other jobs. On the past I think there was interest there, but he was really just using it to get more out of Okie State.

The reason I think he likes Arkansas so much is because it's essentially just like State except better. Large fanbase, more conference money more prestige, and the location is just a stones throw from his parents and extended family.

He gets the best of both worlds, he gets to coach in the SEC, gets a fresh start, all while still recruiting essentially the exact same base and can call the same region home.

I think the only thing holding up the Tenner deal could be the move. Oklahoma to Eastern Tennessee is probably close to 8 or 10 hours.

Fayetteville is what, 2 or 3?

Reminds me of Saban to Texas back in 2013. He waited for Texas to give a number and then told Bama that's his market value. Then Bama went over what Texas offered and he stayed, when in reality he never wanted to leave.

He isn't getting more money from OSU. He just finalized his new contract this summer.

There are some pretty upset folks in Stillwater this evening.
