No one cares that Auburn fans think no one cares what Ole Miss fans have to say about this.

Very little is attractive with the job. It’s a stepping stone.

State was paying Dan Mullen near $5million a year with incentives for 8 wins a year, not to mention brand new facilities and top 20-25 recruiting talent already on the roster.

I’d leave Grantham’s arse in Starkville

Grantham gave our kicker the cut throat jester during a game when he was at UGA. If Sticklin is willing to hire a POS then he should have hired Kiffin or Petrino .

Next to Stanford, Florida has arguably the best Athletics Department in the nation.
Mississippi State does not.
Don’t make it personal; be thankful you had him while you did, and move on.
Who’s to say you don’t end up with someone better?

Also Scott Stricklin, State’s former AD is now the AD over at UF.

Players are tweeting responses to the rumors. The fact that that is happening alone tells you there is some truth to it. If I were the coach I would make sure my players knew what was truth from “reports”.

Mullen’s gone.

Mullen had gone as far as he was going to go in Starkvegas. If he wanted a championship, he needed to go.

Mullen left them in great shape, and I’m hoping they make a good hire. Freshwater would kill it there for a year or two but he isn’t a great long term option.

I never bought the often repeated line of thinking that 'Dan has it made with a cushy low pressure job and wouldn't leave for a school where he could be on the hot seat for having a similar record he produces at MSU'. I think the personality type that is typical among head coaches just doesn't think that way. I think most coaches believe they have all the answers and mojo needed to fix any problem and succeed even if they really don't. Not that Dan wont succeed, just that in general most coaches at this level don't look at things that way.

I hate to see him go because he is a very good coach and has elevated our program to a very respectable level. I’m not pissed at him for leaving though. He can win a natty at Florida. I realize he had security at State, but no man wants to look back on his life and have regrets. He feels this is what he needs to do. I appreciate what he has done for our program.
