I'm at conference in Boston for the weekend and will be foregoing watching the game live to listen to papers presented on "The Formation of Isaiah" and "Archaeology of the Biblical World"

I'll make sure to sacrifice a goat in atonement for my sins.

*However,*

Let's just not get our own GOAT hurt out there tomorrow. He's got an invitiation to New York to earn in two weeks

Thank Yeezy it's only ULM, but for those of y'all that have to delay watching from time to time, how do y'all suggest doing it? This is new to me. Do I follow along on Twitter and watch later, or do a social media blackout until I can get back to the hotel and watch?

I typically follow Twitter and watch later. Trying to do a blackout has never worked for me

That's sorta where I'm leaning. Ideally I'd like to blackout but I feel like with a team like ULM, I'd be agonizing just as much about a potential upset as I would the score of a big game.

I almost feel like the Mizzous and Arkansas's of the world are the best time to do that, since they're still SEC games but in no world are we going to lose those games

Sounds painful. I got my master's degree in theology so even for me that sounds like no fun.

You go the MDiv route?

I'm a second year at Emory. Can't stand theology, but love me some Hebrew Bible. If all goes as planned, I'll be studying in Germany next year before coming back to Emory to finish.

That's awesome. Emory is a great school. My sister went there. I took the short Master of Arts in Theological Studies route so I got to skip the languages. :) Then for some dumb reason I decided to go to law school.

eyyy yeah I almost did an MTS, but since my life is going to be dead language study come PhD time, and all the OT professors said they prefer to take MDiv students because of the extra year of classes, I figured I'd push through the longer program, haha

I know a couple guys in ththe joint MDiv/JD program Emory has. Seems to be a relatively common trend

Actually sounds like fun. Religion was one of my minors in college.

I'll drink a beer for you.

That’s fine. Just list all the other team fans you allowed in here so we can ban tomorrow.

When I first looked at this I thought it said The Fermentation of Isaiah and I was wondering what kind of sick Bible you were studying.

You've clearly never read Ezekiel

Very interesting career choice. If I could go back in time, I would major in anthropology/archaeology. The thought of having to teach scared me off though.
I'd imagine "being able to get a job" must've been pretty high on your list of priorities as well, as it is clearly not on mine

Get a PhD in what you're doing, pick up an easy gig in academia and profit.

There needs to be an IM drinking thread right now.
