We may suck at getting open, but we make up for it by being extremely proficient at not catching the ball.

Sumlin should have fired Moorehead after his Twitter meltdown.

What are they calling a drop? Something that just hits the hands and is hardly even catchable? The A&M PFF guy said Kirk had 0 drops on 27 catchable balls entering the UF game, and ended up having 3 during game. That isn’t anywhere close to 18%.

Yeah I want to see their "drop" criteria.

Nothing says first round “lock” like having the second highest drop rate in SEC.

Late second round pick in my opinion as stated a few weeks ago. No way would I burn a first round pick on Kirk. You can argue about what a “drop” is, how they come up with the %, etc... but everyone watching the games knows he drops too many very catchable balls.

I think the biggest thing that might hurt him in the draft isn’t more his catches or receiver stats as people will grade on a curve that he’s got a true fish qb throwing to him. It’s more about his drops in the return game, he’s muffed 3 punts now this year? Or is it more? And he’s looked scared to field it a few times inside the 20 when he’s had plenty of space to even get a 5-10 yard return.

A team drafting him is going to take special teams into account heavily as he’s not a 6-2 or bigger guy and so I think his special teams performance so far will be his biggest detraction. But we’ve still got a lot of games to play so he can certainly still turn it around. My current guess is late first to early third right now.

Kirk's biggest detraction is that he reminds too many people of Tavon Austin.

YES, thank you. I have long thought this. There are multiple times when he could easily return a punt and doesn’t, or he could fair catch it five ten yards from where it eventually lands, or he fields one too close to the end zone instead of actually letting that one go. It just seems like really poor decision making for someone that is so highly regarded when it comes to returns. And he is absolutely a threat when he does return it, I just wished he did it more often.

That first series should result in Moorehead being fired on the spot.
