Les Miles 141-55 as a head coach.
1 National Championship
2 SEC Titles
3 SEC West Titles

Good recruiter. Respected man.

Some SEC schools could do much worse.

Resume

He looks like an ideal fit to replace O.

He'd probably have a team like LSU in the hunt most years.

He's not a bad coach. Seemed to lose fire kinda like CMR.

That's just the shittiest attitude which I hope no AD's have.

Let's try for this mediocre dude, yay. I don't understand that mentality at all.

Les Miles 141-55 as a head coach.

Valid but I think there might be a general perception that Miles' success had a lot more to with the wealth of recruits in Louisiana who are loyal to LSU than coaching ability. Plus Les inherited a pretty damn good team from Saban.

Looks like they only met a few times. This is from 2011:

[quote]Between them, they’ve won three SEC championships and have coached 18 seasons in the league.

Georgia’s Mark Richt and LSU’s Les Miles meet up in the SEC championship game on Saturday in Atlanta, and like it has so many times over the years, this game has national championship implications.

No. 1 LSU could lock up a berth in the Allstate BCS National Championship game with a win, although the Tigers would still be in good shape to finish in one of those top two spots in the final BCS standings even if they lost a close game.

No. 14 Georgia is trying to win its first SEC championship since 2005 and a berth in the Sugar Bowl.

Here’s a closer look at Richt and Miles from a statistical perspective. The numbers are from their tenures at their current schools. Richt holds a 2-1 edge [quote]

The fact that Miles is 63 years of age is the major issue for him getting a new gig, in my opinion.

MIZ admin are idiots if they aren't knocking on his door (and I'm sure they aren't so...). UGA killed it with Kirby.

Such a great candidate that absolutely no one considered him after being let go mid-season.

Root for a Les Miles coached team for a decade and see if you aren't a schizo chihuahua with PTSD.

Georgia was on LSU like stink on shite in the 1st half of this game, and if they'd hit a couple more critical passes would have pulled the upset.

The reason is that, from the regular season Bama meeting on, LSU's offense struggled in the 1st half against everybody but helpless Ole Miss. Les Miles apparently didn't consider this a problem until he couldn't cross the 50 against Bama...

Edit: ...and even then the hardheaded SOB wouldn't change a damn thing.

There are tons of coaches that could take all that wealth of talent and not win a national Championship.

There are also a lot of coaches that inherit a bunch of talent and still take a step back before moving forward. Regardless of your stance, Miles has done more than some coaches that SEC schools have been hiring....and a better resume than some schools are considering.

Are you saying that Orgeron was abetter candidate? I don't know how many schools may, or may not have, considered or called Miles. neither do you. Not every school publicizes who they are talking to and not every coach publicizes who has called him. I haven't heard of many actual contacts Saban has gotten, but I would be wiling to bet it has been a lot.
