I already know that he's talked to Nebraska boosters and told them he's not interested. He wants to be able to recruit without having to be on the road all the time recruiting, has a new baby and wants to be able to spend time with his family. Nebraska produces virtually zero HS talent.

He could do it at Tennessee, we're 3 hours away from recruiting hot spots in any direction, plus the instate talent is improving dramatically. But he could do much more easily at Florida.

Frost is #1 on my "Realistic" Hotboard. But if we get into a bidding war with UF, I don't think we'd have a chance.

Thoughts?

Oh, and off topic, I hate UF, but what Mac's trying to pull with these "death threats" is fricking bullshite. Bush league to throw the fanbase under the bus like that.

I would be all in on Frost. Both our coaches are terrible at pressers I mean hell I know you have threatened Butch Jones life on this board a million times and he never brought it up to media. I think Iowa States coach is the second coming of Urban Meyer honestly but I have heard no mention of his name up for a big job.

I would hope they would go all in on Frost.

Id also take Leach/Gundy or Kiffin at this point. Idgas as long as we can score. Id rather lose 42-38 than 17-16.

Exactly. Hopefully the powers that be can use this to move on. After everything else and now this, it really looks like hes in over his head.

I'm having a hard time trusting "up and coming" coaches. After Meyer, we went after a hot name coordinator with Boom, and a guy who's had one other head coaching job.

Right now, I think going after someone who has an extensive resume for winning is almost a must. My chips would be all in with Mike Leach, if anyone.

I like Scott Frost but I have a hard time believing he's leaving UCF given everything that's happened off the field at UF. Like you said, he's got a lot of other things going for him so why would he want to wreck a good thing.

Well, he may like UCF, but he'll more than double his salary if he goes to UF or Tennessee. Pretty hard to turn that down.

Like I said, Nebraska is an abysmal job now. They're 10 years behind on facilities compared to the rest of the Top Tier big 10 schools, no instate talent whatsoever.

Florida and Tennessee don't have those issues, and we have the cash.

I still appreciate what he's done with what we were when he arrived. But his handling of this situation has really rubbed me the wrong way. You dont bring that negativity to the program as the HC. I wanted to see one more year now that he had a top class coming, but at this point if we got him outta here after the last game I wouldnt mind.

I don't think Mac is leaving on his own. #1 class in the SEC for next year and has 10+ million dollars on the table.

This death threat stuff is not cause for firing. However, it is a sign of the relationship souring between Mac and UAA/AD.

My prediction is Nuss and Nord out with Dixon as a maybe. If Shannon gets a HC gig, i think he will jump and take Bell.

I still want Spurrier, after being dipped in the fountain of youth and riding in on a unicorn to save the program again. Maybe Gator fans wont run him off this time!

I think Matt Campbell could very much be in play. A guy with 7 years of HC experience at two different schools and winning now at a school that's incredibly difficult to win at. He has the resume that people are looking for, and the added bonus - he's only 37 years old. He very much fits the mold of other great UF coaches.

Going from Iowa State to UF isn't exactly a picnic.

Iowa State literally has no expectations.

Utah had zero expectations before Meyer got there. Just sayin.

Of course not, but that's going to be true of almost every candidate. The guys that have been at big jobs and understand the expectations are either still there and won't leave or have been fired.
