The whole fire Gus thing was so dumb. It was obvious the d kept getting better and he only needed a decent QB. Stidham has ‘developed’ all season long. A lot of folks lost credibility on this board and/ or Alter got exposed.
The SEC is afraid of Gus. We are the only team in the SEC who competes with Bama. The other was Hugh Freeze and the NCAA got him.

good point on which teams can find a way to beat Bama. If we have a QB 2 years ago, we possibly beat them.
I still worry about Gus' inconsistent game management every year that flares up in a game or 2. If he cleans those up, he can look at only 1 loss issues with a good QB, which always gives you a chance at the SEC Championship and BCS..
But losing 2, before amen corner gives him no cushion...

Nah, there were a lot of genuine AU people who wanted Gus gone (some still do). It's just fans, man. They're like that everywhere, especially at places like AU, bammer, UGA, UT, etc.

There are always people who overreact to things. Don't use their heads and make good decisions. You have to consider what circumstances happen at every decision...
It is a sign of youth mostly. No doubt Gus had and has some issues that need to be cleaned up but every coach will have those. Every person will have those

When you hire a coach with no head coaching experience, you have to let him get some On-The-Job-Training. People want instant gratification, no patience.
Now, it wouldn't surprise me if Gus goes home to arKansas. We've had some pretty insufferable fans/boosters pretty vocal about Gus. Gus winning the SEC this year and giving the bird to Auburn would be painful, but not surprising.
