If the NCAA determines that the institutions have the ability to cheapen a degree to whatever means they see fit, by offering fraudulent classes, they are undercutting the value of the very thing they see as "fit compensation" for the student-athletes they are bringing in. At what point does this then re-spark the conversation for paying players.
You won't ever hear me defending the concept of amateur college athletics.

Like I said, I might be jaded by living in Virginia around a lot of UNC people and then people who went to more-or-less peer schools. I know for a fact that the "were you an AFAM major?" digs cut UNC alums deep because there's substance to it. People are joking, but not really. High school kids hear that, and IMO it has to have some effect. I realize that that's anecdotal, but it's also anecdotal within a critical out-of-state base for UNC.
Yeah man. All good It's always good to hear other perspectives on stuff, so interesting that it would have that kind of impact in VA, but I guess not that surprising, as of course there is a pretty healthy rivalry between UVA and UNC on that front... regionally similar schools, looking for similar types of students, even in the same conference.
Might linger there a little longer than anywhere else.

UVA and Duke people will do their best to never let this story totally die.

I would be disappointed in them if they didn't.

Thing is, we fell on the sword with that as there was a lot of other slime going on and we had some exposure.
Also, Adams wanted UGA to be a top tier book lernin school and the sooner that scandal went away the better. In his mind.

Don't look now but Chip Towers agrees with some of us...

Not quite sure how I feel about that. A little dirty honestly.

UNC has taken a reputation hit that UGA avoided with their handling of the scandal.
And every prospect that UNC offers a BB or FB scholly will ask if those courses are still available.
