So Guice has more yards and the same amount of td's, yet they have Kelly rated higher. Kelly is good but Guice is better.
You're leaving out a lot cuz math and context are hard:
Guice 42 carries 224 yds 4tds; 1 catch, 4 yards
Kelly 37 carries 204 yds, 4 TDs; 10 catches, 95 yards
-------------------
TOTAL YARDS W/O ADJ CARRIES AND CATCHES:
Guice 224 + 4 = 228 yds
Kellt 204 + 95 = 299 yds
Given that Kelly is averaging over 6 yards a carry we can extrapolate a total of 234 yards rushing if he had the same number of carries (and that's being conservative). Adding in the catches and yardage Kelly wins there too.
IOW, Kelly wins in every category at this point.

Kelly at #1 must be a typo. iirc We heard all off season about how much of a step back we would take in the run game with Kamara and Hurd leaving.

Yeah, I just went by rushing yards. It doesn't matter to me because I know neither back will be able to run on Bama.

Hey Prof, care to make a ban bet that he does not get 100 yards against Bama?

could have sworn, that according to some State fans Williams was a better back.
According to this state fan he isn't the best runner on the team

Yeah, that belongs to Simmons.

Not being a homer here ... could care less about SDS rankings and all of those backs listed are solid backs, a few of them well above average to excellent. But I promise this, SC has a trio of three backs, all three different styles, all three seriously solid backs in Rico Dowdle, Ty'son Williams and A.J. Turner.
My point is this fwiw which is about as much as a piece of bubble gum costs these days.
They are all three physical, all three good blockers, all three have one thing, one strength, that they excel-at while still being solid in other areas that SEC level backs need to be competent-in.
I can never remember in all my years having three solid backs like this at the same time. I know UGA and Bama often go five or six deep at RB, and LSU always seems to have three. Tennessee used to always have three, rarely fewer than two. We've had some great ones over the years but never this deep and solid ... and I like it a lot.
Anyways, congrats to all the programs who have backs who made the SDS' list.
SC's are young, but three to watch if you get a chance.
Rico is a bulldozer. He'll wear down a defense.
Ty'son is a big speedy prototypical SEC back with great lateral moves, great vision and good instincts and breakway speed.
A.J. is all heart, physical for his size and fearless. Really quick and when he catches the ball outta the backfield he has a great first step and he can motor.
I hope they get a chance to really show their stuff this weekend. I suspect they might.

Chubb is a better RB (after his injury) than anything Starkville has or ever had ...

I now have a new goal in life and (spoilers) it involves taking an extremely hot knife and cutting through every soft object I can find. First up, another marshmallow. Next, TAMU's and UF's defenses.

9. Ralph Webb - Vanderbilt
Based on rankings for just this season, I'm surprised he's this high. I'm not taking anything away from Webb because I think he is personally one of the top 5 or 6 backs in the league. He just hasn't broken out this year for whatever reason. The boxes don't seem that much more loaded than last year, but maybe the OL is just not gelled yet.

Damn you Vandy fans. Sometimes I think you guys are the only ones that get my sub-par humor. You sir have a new fan.

Williams & Kirk paired with whoever A&M has @ QB, is like a deaf and blind man owning a fleet or Lamborghini's.
What an incredible waste of talent.

So... you think Vandy wins the East and A&M wins the West? I'll take it.
