So, you're satisfied with Arkansas' terrible record and the fact that you've never even sniffed a national championship since entering the SEC. Man you have low self esteem!

Several LSU players were vocal about making him permanent at LSU. The players all love him.
Exact same situation happened at LSU when Arnsparger resigned and DC Mike Archer was hired.

The players all loved him.

How'd that work out?

Players don't need a friend and father figure as HC.

BoarEd, we don't give a damn if you like us. Fact is you respect us based on your quote "...with LSU having a Natty the last 10 yrs, a huge loud stadium, great fans, a huge crop of in-state talent, and a roster already full of studs."
We'll take that!

There's no perfect recipe for a successful head coach or else every team would make a home run hire every year. For every Nick Saban there's a Pete Carrol or Dabo. "Player's coaches" have been very successful too.

That wasn't me that said that. I don't even respect you.

My intelligence has nothing to do with this. I know I'm not bright. I don't need you to tell me that. I only created this thread to talk about the fact that LSU is spiralling out of control.

think that those players were playing over their heads last year under O. I think they were playing for pride because their coach got canned.

I would agree with you if it were only 3 or 4 games. When we really look at what O did after he took over last year, he beat the teams he was supposed to be, lost to a team he was supposed to lose to and lost to a team he was favored to beat. Nothing more, nothing less. I think you'll see a similar type of season this year, I.e. Losses to Bama and probably Auburn and Florida

In my opinion Bielema needs to win 9. If he doesn't, I think he needs to go. He's probably safe with 8, but any less and the natives will be awfully restless. If he barely makes a bowl, or misses a bowl, he's probably gone.

Now, back to Ed O...Why you guys losing so many players?

They are all reserve players with the exception of Arden Key that had shoulder surgery. Stuff happens. Ask Florida

Nope. Nope. Nope. Archer couldn't recruit for crap. As Arnsparger's players left, LSU's win total went straight south. 10-1-1, then 8-4, then 4-7, then 5-6.

Coach O recruits at a high level, as does the whole staff. A very different situation if for no other reason.

From what I've seen he's learned some valuable lessons from his tenure at Ole Miss. He seems to let his coaches coach and doesn't micro manage anymore. If he maintains that perspective I think he will do just fine. Everything else is in place. The QB and O-line situation is less than ideal but that's not his fault. I wish you guys had kept Miles, we could beat him. We'll have to see with Coach O.

I also think O is a terrible coach and that will become evident in a couple days.

Thank you for you coaching expertise here! It is funny how he is so respected in the coaching circle at all levels, yet he is a bum by the so called fan coaching experts!

Let's talk about all the different ways Fatbert eats cock.

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, cock-kabobs, cock creole, cock gumbo. Pan fried cock, deep fried cock, stir-fried cock There's pineapple cock, lemon cock, coconut cock, pepper cock, cock soup, cock stew, cock salad, cock and potatoes, cock burger, cock sandwich. That's about it.

Not really. You see, there are statistics to back up the fact the guy sucks arse as a head coach.

Well here are a few things that he's got going for him:

A. The talent level he had at Ole Miss is not even close to the talent level he will have at LSU

B. He admitted that he may have been a little too harsh in dealing with those OM p*****s by coaching them in the same manner as he did with Warren Sapp at UM (thug U)

C. We got this guy

most likely, but the talent will bail him out for the most part similar to Les.

also, Ed O likely has better coordinators than Les ever had.

This is correct, though, Les had Jimbo Fisher for two years. He just wouldn't let Jimbo or any of his other offensive coordinators coach. After 2008 with all of the pick-sixes thrown by Jarrett Lee, Miles locked the passing game in a cage and threw away the key. LSU's defenses generally were pretty good before and after '08 (which was a defensive disaster with a co-defensive coordinator experiment), too, because Miles didn't touch that side of the ball. The defense fell apart a bit in '14 and '15 (Steele was left to deal with it in '15) because Chavis couldn't be bothered to recruit. Going to recruit would have interrupted Chavis' buffet time.

LSU's talent base has eroded some (don't let recruiting rankings fool you), especially on the offensive line and some on the defensive line. It's Orgeron's job to correct that, and recruiting is allegedly his strength.

On the bright side, if Orgeron flops, it means we'll get a new head coach and a new athletic director. For now, I'll happily settle for no more Miles.
