Only if 5-3 is good enough to win the east by tie breakers.

Lyle Allen Jones has beaten the University of Kentucky by double digits four years in a row. He can't even achieve a winning record vs Vanderbilt, yet has wiped the floor with Kentucky.

They get both Landmass schools so they could split vs the East and still get there.

Mizzou did it, so who knows, now and again, elephants fly

Just pointing out that sheit talking Kentucky about their football team is well, kind of tiny.

Well, Mizzou is a much better program than Kentucky.
South Carolina did win it so you have a point.
Just don't see it

You misunderstood. I'm just trying to get a peak under the hood of the UK Fan psyche.

Like a ant arguing with a fly on their relative size while sitting on an elephants arse.

Yeah, the fly is a lot bigger.
I was just pointing out the goofiness of your comparison, but like I said...South Carolina has so that fits better with your point.

Except the ant has beaten the fly more times throughout history(and will again this year).

And no, most of us realize it'll be Georgia or Florida.

I got the Cats going 9-3 this year.

I mean, there are some South Carolina fans that think Muschamp is a good coach.
Posted on 8/30/17 at 10:47 am to JesusQuintana
I think Kentucky has a better chance than South Carolina, Vandy, or Mizzou and an equal chance as Tennessee.

Nope, nor do the players probably

They have a really good shot at it I think.
Someone mentioned their schedule with West teams.
The offense should be good. The defense has really good linebackers. The defensive front isn't a weak spot, but they don't seem like they are anything like LSU or Alabama trots out. With Kentucky I'd worry about the secondary more than anything.
But what really gives them a shot is Johnson. There are better passers, but he is pretty good. And he can be a factor in the run game, along with avoiding sacks and getting yardage on plays that break down. He doesn't get much talk around here, but I think he is going to be one of the best qb's in the SEC.
That said, it really depends on what Georgia does this year. Smart has shown he can recruit, but I still dunno about his coaching chops. We'll see.
To me as an observer from a rival team, the biggest potential threat I see is Stoops. Still not sold on him as a head guy. Little less than a year ago they were ready to run him out of town in a pine box. If Johnson hadn't emerged (and come on, both Kentucky fans and their coaches had to be as surprised as anyone else at that), Stoops would have been.
Just like Smart we'll have to see. Offhand I could actually see Kentucky winning the East this year, and getting saddled with a Stoops long term, even if he does turn out to be their version of Houston Nutt.
Still it all depends on Georgia. Think Florida is vulnerable while McElwain is there, ditto with Jones at Tennessee. South Carolina is a year away from really being able to contend. Whatever Mason is going to do is going to take years to come to fruition, if it does.
Missouri, eh, they have an offense. For them long term it depends on how well Odom recruits.

Well, the east is average at best, and UK's schedule is very favorable overall.
Of course, it's the wins that matter, and that has always been a challenge. This is the most experienced UK team since 2007, so I think some of the hype is real, but the truth will come out on gamedays.
It always does.
