re: Do Kentucky fans REALLY think they are going to win the East?

That UK is even being discussed is a mark of improvement for our program. UK football fans know that the basketball program will always overshadow every other sport at the school. That doesn't mean that we can't be competitive.

UK is the flagship school for the state, has a great in-state rival in Louisville and has the resources to compete with the Cards. That competition will lead to a solid program that can compete in the SEC.

Actually they have as good of chance as anyone other than Georgia. Stoops appears to be heading UK in the right direction. The east is so foggy that they can finish anywhere between 1st and 4th, and yes, above Mizzou. Im not sold on coach O yet. I think Eason is a hell of a QB though which puts Georgia over the top.

The East really isnt that good so if theyre ever going to have a chance its now.

Now are never for Kentucky, i doubt the East will ever be this bad for a long time.

It's 2 days before the season starts, I say 'believe it' to every fanbase out there right now. Who knows what tomorrow brings in a world few hearts survive? All I know I is the way I feel- and it's real. I keep it alive. The road is long. There are mountains in our way but we climb a step every day.

Honestly, I think most UK fans simply do not know how to process these kind of upcoming seasons. There is a weird but real sense of hope but it also comes with an equal sense of fear and doom.

Last year, the regular season could have easily been another 5 win season...or on the flip side...could have just as easily ended up a 9 win season. So I kind of expect a similiar go around this year. Hoping for the best but can easily see the worst...expect something in the middle.

I think UK is another year or two away honestly, depending on if they are able to continue to build quality talent and depth across the board.

Stoops has made some mistakes as a first time head coach no doubt. But he has taken a program with mid level MAC talent across the board and transformed it to a team that has some real SEC talent and depth in a lot of places. I think the staff has really come along as well despite some poor choices throughout the way.

If he is just able to avoid a disaster type season that kills all momentum, he may be able to pull this thing off and really build a solid program, at UK no less, from the ground up.

I think Kentucky finishes 2nd in the East behind Georgia. I think Georgia just has the talent that'll overwhelm most East teams and I don't think Florida is going to win 9 or 10 games like they have the last 2 years.

SC and Ky are wildcards with good players and question marks all over.
Fl defense is going to drop like a stone
