Not trying to compare him to Saban or Dabo. But do you realize, it was only his first year!??! Even alabama lost to louisana monroe in Saban first year. Dabo swinney lost some games as well, his first year at clemson. Give the guy a chance! Uga 10-2 this year!Go Dawgs!

I can't believe UGA fans and other rival fans are not higher on them in year two under Kirby. It seems the Media is finally picking up on it. I've been calling it for months, and been getting shite on for it.

UGA will be very, very good this year.

That's all anyone remembers, but that 2007 Alabama team actually showed significant improvement. Competitive in every game and got just the program's third bowl victory in 10 years. They also had very little talent on the roster.

Kirby barely eeked out wins over
Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Nichols State, and Missouri and lost to Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss (45-14) with a team that had won 10 games the year before.

Kirby still has a chance to be a good coach, but he for sure needs to improve. His recruiting will help alot when his players get a couple of years of experience.

I'm a devoted Alabama fan, and only a very casual UGA fan because I have lived most of my life in Georgia and most of my friends are UGA fans. If that qualifies me to respond in this thread: I hope Kirby does well, but I didn't like his hire for O.C. I said it then, and I still think that. UGA deserves better than that guy. Honestly, for that matter, UGA should never have to hire an unproven head coach. Considering that the state of Georgia produces more blue chip athletes than any state with the exception of Florida, Texas, and California, and due to the fact that UGA is far and away the flagship program of that state, then you guys should always be able to hire a proven coach. Kirby may be a great one, but he may not. First things first, fire the O.C. if you guys don't have a very productive offense this year.

Kirby has already started turning things around at Georgia. He took a team that went 10-3 and finished 3rd in the East (and fired their coach) the year before, and went 8-5 and finished 3rd in the East. That's Derrick Dooley-esque progress if ever I've seen it (trust me...I know it when I see it).
