Could a sans pants Pat Dye start for the second string defense?

Well he's either an old fart that spends his time watching Finebaum and reading al.com and rushing to this board to start a thread on it or he's just a troll in general.

Are we sure they interviewed the right transfer QB?

You realize that over the last 10 years the Big 12 is 15-27 (35.7%) head to head against the SEC, right?
That they're 5-16 (23.8%) against the SEC in bowl games too, right?
Oh, and I'm sure you also knew they're 0-2 (0.0%) against the SEC in national title games.
But yeah, a Big 12 QB did light up Alabama in a bowl game so clearly the evidence supports your assertion.

Wait, what??? Even as an Auburn fan I find this hard to believe

The SEC had 53 players drafted last year. The Big12 had 14. LINK /
As far as the high powered Big12 offenses, the league had 1 O-linemen and 2 WRs taken. The NFL sees what we all see: The Big12 is a 7 on7 flag football league

Which is pretty much the unanswered question on Stidham.
Coming from that environment, odds are he can throw the ball quite well but he's played in 2 1/2 games outside of trash time. The question is how will he play once he gets hit in the mouth again and again and again - and right now there isn't enough evidence to make an informed prediction either way.

Everyone wants to attack the Big 12 Defenses and talk about how great the SEC Ds have been. Look at the SEC QBs the last five yeasr, there may have been a total of 5 decent passing QBs. We saw what happens to the best D in the conference when they play a decent passing QB with Alabama the last three years.

The catch is that Clemson wasn't just an offensive football team. Their final total defense rankings in the last two seasons were 8th and 10th. Ohio State was 19th in 2014. In those cases, the team with the better offense has a good chance of winning the game.
As you pointed out, Alabama is 1-2 playoff games against teams with prolific offenses and good or better defenses but that's not the Big12. In the last three years, the entire Big 12 conference has had ONE team (TCU 2014) finish the season with a top 25 defense.
The numbers speak for themselves. You could potentially argue that regular season matchups could skew if a lot of SEC teams were scheduling Kansas for homecoming, but the disparity is greater in the bowl games. They play good offense, but they play really, really terrible defense. When they face teams that play good defense and reasonable offense they almost always lose.
Hence the question mark on Stidham. Will he be able to play at near the same level he did in his short time at Baylor or will he turn into JJ-Junior? One path leads to playoff contention and the other leads to a coaching search. We won't know the answer until mid October.

While playing one good team in the ACC each year.

It's not Auburn, either. Alabama's offense, even with a quarterback that hadn't learned to read defenses or hit a wide receiver in stride, ran pretty roughshod over Auburn last year.

You're an idiot. Nobody graduated anybody in the BIG XII except WVU and OU. Everybody else pretty much returned their entire team, hence the low draft numbers. But keep drinking your ESPN kool-aid. Slurpy-slurpy!

How pts did bama give up in the fourth quarter against Clemson

Right. The dipshits who write those articles didn't bother to see how many returning players each team had and instead, took the opportunity to run with the popular media narrative about the BIG XII.
I don't care whether you think it "makes sense" or not. Pretty much the entire BIG XII returned most of their teams from last year intact. Facts are facts, not "homerism".
Somebody who actually did some research
"The good news: almost everybody is projected to improve. This was a young conference — another reason for the draft issues — and S&P+ expects seven of 10 teams to perform better this fall. Two others (WVU and Kansas) have enough transfers to lead you to believe they might avoid regression as well.
Texas was one of the youngest teams in the country, and TCU wasn’t far behind. They’re both projected to surge. Oklahoma State might have the best passing game in the country. Kansas State could have one of the nation’s best running games."

Would that be the ACC team with the Heisman trophy winning QB, the ACC team that won 10 games including OOC wins vs healthy Ole Miss, Florida, and Michigan, or the other ACC team that also won 10 games?
Oh, and you do understand those standings include non-conference games too right?

If Auburn gets by Clemson, they will have a special year.

Yeah just look at what LSU did to that All Big 12 QB Trevor Knight. Big 12 defenses are straight garbage, shite 2016 bowl game that Big 12 Texas Tech defense made Brandon Harris look like a 1st rd QB.

"All Big 12 QB Trevor Knight."
You mean the guy that threw for 3 TDs on you in spite of being terrible? Trevor Knight was never a decent BIG XII QB. That's why he got sent down to the minor leagues.

This is the only BIG XII defense you've seen, clown. Everybody dunks on Tech. Why are you even in this thread? We're talking about quarterbacks.

Yes that ACC, the Heisman winner that lost the last three games of the year (2 to average SEC Teams), the team that beat a 4-8 Ole Miss, was destroyed by the Heisman winner and beat a very average UF and UM team.
