I know you guys rip on Mizzou, and quite frankly, we deserve it with some of junk that's happened here over the last few years, but I'm so thankful to be out of that God forsaken conference.

I used to think that the Big 12's implosion was an event that was coming no matter what. I've since changed my line of thinking a bit on the subject.

The Big 12 exists because Bevo wants it to. They clearly run the show, get a lion's share of money, and can pretty much do what they want, because they know the rest of the conference is dependent on them. Especially Tech, TCU, Baylor, KSU, & ISU. If Bevo decides they're better off with some kind of Notre Dame type deal, then I think the Big 12 goes down for good. The remaining schools will scramble to try to find a safe landing spot.

The schools I mentioned would be in real trouble, and I think would most likely end up in some sort of reorganized WAC type conference with Baylor, Tech, TCU, KSU, ISU joining up with Colorado State, the New Mexico schools, UNLV, Boise State, Wyoming, and probably Air Force. Something like that.

The Beakers? As much as I hate to say it, their basketball program and the fact that they're an AAU school probably gets them into the Big 10. I'd prefer it if they ended up in the NAIA.

WV probably goes to one of the east conferences. I doubt the ACC takes them in, so I'd guess the AAC for them. I suppose the SEC could provide them a very soft landing.

OU - they're tied to OSU, so what they do really depends on what their government allows them to. If allowed to split, I can see OU, despite the lack of TV's, getting into the SEC due to the name recognition. OU is also pretty solid across the board athletically, so they'd fit in pretty well. For the most part, I think they'd be team players.

OSU - really tied to OU. Also, Bevo could throw them a lifeline with a move to the PAC, if the PAC was willing to take them in. That move would be similar to what they tried to do back in 2011, I think. The deal breaker was the Longhorn Network, so any move west would require Bevo to move on from it.

I agree with everything you said besides OU and OSU being tied together. There is nothing holding the two schools together like the Texas schools had when A&M left. OU and OSU have been in different conferences before and will be again.

To be totally honest. I wish the conferences we're still in pre 2010 alignment. It's still so weird to me seeing Nebraska playing fricking Rutgers and not Oklahoma or Texas. West Virginia should play Pitt. Missouri should play Kansas. Texas AM should play Texas and stop holding our fans hostage over thanksgiving. And for Christ sake what is Maryland doing in the B1G.

When Mizzou fans start feeling bad about all the hazing from other SEC fans, just remember it could be worse. Far worse. You could be an Ole Miss fan. The hazing has reached a new level for that school.

Do you mean the Mountain West? Not a horrible conference.

As much as it pains me to say this, if we can't get a VA and NC ACC team, if the Big 12 explodes, I wouldn't be apposed to them here. God knows we need better basketball programs. Consistently.
