I was doing some exterior field day, and a stupid horse fly bit me on the outside of my left leg between my ankle and knee. This happened a few hours ago. Now, from the bite area to my ankle is swollen. I look like I have Norbit feet. I took some Benadryl and now I'm icing my "wound".
At what point, besides never, should I seek medical assistance? I can still breathe and wiggle my toes. I can't really walk on it due to the pain though. Are there any other remedies I can pursue or am I a goner?

I thought I was getting a fever from this, but I remembered that I got sunburned today.

Just watch it, horse flies here are like mosquitoes in Africa. They carry a bunch of shite.

You might want to get that checked out. I have had them swell but never too large

Makers and cigar, while I look up options to fly out of Houston for the honeymoon instead of Nola.

Just remove the leg and stop being a puss about it. Pirates are in again.

Horse flies are known to carry rabies. If I were you I would soak it in Grey Goose.

Pour some hydrogen peroxide around the bit to drain infection
Might want to soak in some Epsom Salts if it is swollen
Should check in with a doc just in case
Are you sure it was a horse fly and not a recluse?

If you haven't already seen a doc, you are an idiot

This. That's an extreme reaction to a fly bite. Grits' suggestion that it might be a spider bite sounds more reasonable.

You really only have two options at this point.
1) Set your leg on fire
2) Cut your leg off
Just make sure you work on the right leg. You would hate to have to tell us you cut off the wrong leg or something.

Unless spiders taught themselves how to fly(frick this planet if so) it was a horse fly. The swelling went down and I'm good. That bastard mucked me up.

It always goes down right before death.

You should be okay unless it start itching and start to pus around the bite or start to look like this...
If it starts to look like this i would go and see a Doc.
