Great news today for sure, but what are your realistic expectations.

Arkansas will go and play in the early tourney against very good competition for 3 games in Portland. We will host a very good Minnesota team. We go to Houston and play on a neutral floor against Houston. We will likely draw Iowa State or West Virginia or Baylor in the Big12 SEC challenge at home.

We should get Kentucky, Florida, and Tennessee at home. We will have the regular double dose of LSU, Missouri, aTm. Likely travel to Miss State and Ole Miss. Then the SEC will fill in the rest some how, some way.

Overall it should be a pretty good home schedule and also a pretty good SOS overall. Really a chance to have a high RPI with some good wins available.

I'm gonna need some time to soak in the double positive news. It's weird and atypical.

But I already know this, I am excited about basketball!!

I think it's tough enough as is. Just fill it in with mid majors and be done. No need to kill ourselves with what we already have scheduled. Likely already looking at 3 big name games in Portland, a top 25 Minnesota team at home, 20+ win Houston team at neutral site, and hosting a 23+ win team from the Big 12.

No need for any tougher games.

More than 25 wins and at least a trip to the sweet 16. By all accounts, we should be pretty tough next season. Good job Mike!

SEC Tournament Semis\Final
5 Seed in the Dance
Sweet 16\Elite 8

With another strong season and the recruiting class coming in next year CMA may have just turned the corner to get Arkansas Basketball back to where we all expect it to be.

Excited as all hell for the next few years of Razorback Basketball.

I would tend to agree with that...

5 seed or better in NCAA Tourney
SEC Championship Game appearance again
Win 2 games in NCAAt
Win 25 regular season games

I also hope to see mens college basketball go to four quarters where the fouls reset after each quarter. I just can't take the free throw shooting contests any longer. It is just ruining it for me. It kills the product on the floor and I hope the rules committee will take a long hard look at how the women's game has changed going that route. NBA plays 4 quarters as well, so college men should as well.

I'm really hoping the freshmen come gel with the current guys quickly and Jones and Bailey are ready to go. I just hope Jones won't be gun shy since he had to ride the bench a lot last season.

At least, most of players are athletic enough that our defense should be better. I know the freshmen will have growing pains, but they have a lot serious experience to help him them out.

Also, hope Thomas comes to play more like he did in the Seton Hall game. That kind of performance will help this team out a lot.

Make the dance, secure a double-bye in the SECt.

Anything after that relies so heavily on cirumstance its impossible to outright set further expectation.

What i want to see is the squad continue to gel as a team. Hopefully losing such a strong team oriented leader like manny wont hurt that much. Beard may be a little overconfident as a player, but he appeared to grow as a rah-rah guy last year, so maybe he takes up some of mannys loss in that department.

Wanna see Gafford establish a strong role by conference scheduling, and hopefully one of garland and hall as well.

Hope the intensity the guys played with the last month of the season carries over more often than not, leading to much better defense/pace.

Macon continuing to buy in and round out his game would be icing on the cake, as would Thomas cutting down on the wtf moments.

And hopefully no one punches a coach in practice or gets a little rapey. That would be great.

Considering that if we did not have a ton of bad calls go against us that the Hogs might have had a very deep run in the NCAAT...

We compete for the SEC title this year. We make the semifinals of the SEC tournament. A Sweet 16 run.

The year after, if our recruiting holds out the sky is the limit.

Or... it all falls apart for some reason. We go out in the second round of the SEC Tourney and land an NIT spot. We win the first game and then lose the second. Mike Anderson turns the dogs loose on people trying to put a "for sale" sign on his front lawn.
