Georgia and Bama should switch IMO, Eason will be damn good. Hurts will actually have to show some form of accuracy to deserve the #2 spot on that list.
And yes as an LSU fan I am qualified to judge QBs. I know what good ones look like, and that's why I didn't argue our case to be on the list. SO READY FOR SEC FOOTBALL!

That looks about right. I might bump UGA up a few spots.

If SEC QB’s were stocks, Etling would be best “buy” on market. Priced low, but w/ Guice as RB & full offseason w/ OC Canada, big potential. - Peter Burns

Looking for a bite while trolling the SECN, just use Auburn blue/orange bait. Unproven AU QB who looks like he could be a good player? Where have we seen this before?

Did you watch the NC game? He lost the game for y'all because he's a running back with a decent arm, not a QB yet.
Being the best QB in the SEC mean very little now-a-days, Look at his competition in the conference: if Chad Kelly wouldn't have gotten hurt he'd have finished better, Eason is on a garbage Georgia team that is now on the rise, Fitzgerald at MSU came on late, and the rest of the SEC is full of no names.

Our offense scored 31 points, which should be enough for an Alabama team to win. He specifically scored a huge go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter with something like 2 minutes left in the game. This was with a brand new coordinator that he'd had for one week prior. Yes Clemson, the best team in the country last year, had a very effective game plan against us and we failed to adjust. What would the perception be on Hurts if they didn't score that last touchdown? True Frosh, SEC champ, SEC OPOY...

Is that not what this thread and that 'ranking' is about? The best qb in the SEC (which he was last year). He doesn't have to be Dan Marino.
It's funny to me how "Eason will be damn good" but "Hurts will actually have to show some form of accuracy", according to you.
Hurts completion percentage: 62.8%
Eason completion percentage: 55.1%
Sure Hurts has areas he needs to improve, but saying he has to do something to earn a #2 spot on the list when he beat out everybody last year is just asinine. I guess we'll see where Hurts ends up come November. By that point, I'm sure it will be 'all the talent around him' or 'they get away with holding' or 'gimmicky play-calling'.

Any Joe QB could have a good completion percentage with dink-n-dunk passes and swing passes. He's a running back that is used as QB as a game manager. "Hey, don't turn it over and get it to Howard or a WR in space and let them do the work."
I'm not saying hes horrible or non-deserving of praise. He's obviously decent enough to start for the best team in the country, he's no slouch. He's just not as good as everyone thinks he is. His stats are inflated because of running for TDs, letting WR do all the work off of a bubble screen or swing pass, and the occasional busted coverage deep bomb TD. He's a game manager, which obviously is all Bama ever needs. If y'all had a run'em up'n down QB like Eason or Manning (when he was at UTENN) and the like. Well that would be game over before the season even starts for the rest of us trying to catch up.

So that's not "some form of accuracy"? Interesting.
I'm saying he was the #1 qb in the SEC last year according to the coaches and the AP. But now, Eason and Patterson and Austin Allen are all going to get better but Hurts can't? Over the offseason, all these other guys got better than Hurts while he stayed the same. The dude won't even be 19 years old until this coming August. It couldn't just be that you don't like Alabama, could it?

I think most would agree that Austin Allen has great tools for a QB. Good size, strong arm, throws an accurate ball, and he is willing to stand in the pocket and take a shot to complete a pass.
The big question is going to be the problem area from last year, the offensive line. Allen took some absolute monster hits all through the season and that wore him down a lot by the end of the year. If the line can't give him a clean pocket and a solid running attack to set up the play action AA is going to have another long season I fear.

Why cant Bama fans just admit that Hurts isn't a great QB?

This. I read that the team gave up something like 44 sacks last year. He got beat on for sure.

I never said he can't/won't get better. Obviously any player who practices their craft usually gets better (Except LSU QBs they get worse i.e. Brandon Harris).
Over the off season I'm sure he'll get better, fine tune things he needs to and will be a better QB this season.
Again, any Joe QB can do this, there are 0 star QBs in high school football that do that. Nothing at all to brag about throwing a 10 yard dart.
I'm one of the rare LSU fans who respects, and believe it or not, routes for Bama most of the time. I have an LSU jersey signed by Nick and it hangs right next to my signed Billy Cannon jersey. I am a big believer in the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Well, I hate Auburn with a burning passion so I am hard core Roll Damn Tide for the Iron Bowl.

How do you measure college qb greatness? I generally look to titles and hardware. In his one year so far he won an SEC title, SEC offensive player of the year, and SEC freshman of the year. I'd say that's great, but what do I know

Here comes more "but he made 1st team!!!" responses. Let's just continue to ignore how shite he was in the postseason.
