I still keep up with the Oxford Yellow Jackets. They went 10-0 in 6A last season before getting trounced in the opening round of the playoffs. The product of a soft region I'm afraid.

I still keep up with the smaller A schools. I played 2A ball back then but my school is a 1A now

I follow the Hewitt Huskies, my alma mater.
Trussville threw the bank at a man y'all may be familiar with named Josh Floyd. He goes all the way back to Malzahn's high school days where some Christian school won like 3 state championships in a row and he was in one or a few of them as a player.
That being said, he continued the trend and that's when Hewitt came calling. They made it to the playoffs last year and were killing it until Gadsden Coty of all teams knocked them out.
Cool fact: Paul Bear Bryant's great grandson is their QB this year. His name is Paul Tyson.

I played for a 1A and a 2A. They're both 1A now so I keep up with 1A more than anything

I keep up with the Birmingham over the mountain teams. Especially Vestavia, Mountain Brook, and Briarwood. I also try to keep up with some schools I played against (5A and 6A)

I'd go watch when my kids were still in high school. I'd go watch their games to see DaRon Payne, Kieth Mixon, Jameis Winston, Kendell Kelly, Dre Kirkpatrick, Roc Thomas, Kwon Alexander, Nico Collins, etc. Probably several that I'm not thinking of.
I enjoyed it. The kids are out of high school now, but I might go find a game or two to watch on a Friday night this season if I don't have anything else going on.

North Alabama here.
Went to Bob Jones & Madison Academy.
bJ been pretty good and one of the best teams from NAla, but run into Region 3 in the first round...Which means bye bye.

James Clemens seems where the talent is going now.

I would say all 3 get their fair share.. Building a new school didn't help but it was needed. And if they build the new Monrovia school.. Students could potentially move into MadCo district since the new site is on the fringes of County Line RD, where J. Clemens is located.

Yep- love HS football. I don't really care for the 7A b.s because it ruined a lot of regions up. Why does Cheslea and Pelham have to travel down to Opelika to play a game. 6a regions suck now.
That said, Wetumpka is about to wreck shite next year.

My old high school doesn't exist now. It turned into what is now Gadsden City. I graduated from Emma Sansom which produced Gene Jelks (ugh) and Oscar Malone to Arkansas.
