Can't believe you fired charlie

Perhaps my sarcasm meter needs some fine tuning, but we didn't have a choice. Everybody loved him and he still was fired.

Charlie took on a tough task, the place was rotten to the core.. much worse than anyone could even imagine. He came in when Patterson was the AD and got screwed on building his staff. Brutal task and roadblocks.

Sadly, the bottom line reason he failed was on him... poor adjustments both in recognition and execution/timeliness. He's an elite DC, but just doesn't have the skill set required to be an elite HC at a program at the Texas level.

Great person, doesn't get you much in the CFB world, but great person.

dunno, but when they do it won't be some lipstick on a pig hack job like Kyle Field.

We certainly won't have to leverage ourselves into financial oblivion nor will we have to manufacturer fake championships to to adorn it's walls in order to try to impress our new SEC "friends".

Surprised you have the energy to post.. with Texas and now LSU split roasting you like Ned Beatty in "Deliverance", I'd think you had more important things to worry about.

Keep trying little girl, maybe one day you'll trip and fall onto the acorn.

was hoping your post was sincere vs sarcasm, yeah firing Charlie was a sad day.

I'm not as emotionally into the program as I used to be.. kids/life/business have taken over and after we finally put up a NC after years of falling short, I committed to not being "obsessed fan" guy.

Charlie was different, I really wanted to see him succeed.. sounds crazy, but more for him than the program itself.

I'll always root for him where ever he is.

I'd take even odds on Texas doing a DKR makeover before aggy wins a SEC Championship.

Don't forget the Athletic Center... minor detail, but there are a few pieces of hardware that I think you'll see are missing on the aggy campus.

I wasn't never big on Herman. Would have been cool with the hire because he is a good offensive mind, but his head coaching record wasn't super impressive with just a couple of years under him. I like the Orgeron hire much better. But I'm one of the ones that bought O deserved the job and will have great success in the SEC.

It was much like a slow-motion horror flick. LSU fans were completely unaware that he had any interest in Texas, and laughed at the idea. "Preposterous." Then they disbelieved that he actually worked at Texas at one time. "Never."

I guess if you are going to post bullshite, post big time bullshite.

We all knew there was "interest" there.

I think he would have failed at LSU also. The guy has been a HC for a total of two years

Exactly. He's in over his head.

When will Bama make a spectacular OC hire? It's April, now.

He could have had it all at LSU, recruited against no one plus not have to put up with those figs in Austin.
Not recruit against anybody in Louisiana, but going up against "The King" in the SEC. Maybe he didn't want the challenge of facing Saban in recruiting and on the field.

We'll never know since Alleva just gave up and didn't pursue or try to sell LSU to him once he said he wanted to talk with Texas.

So, apparently Austin and College Station are loaded with the Fancy Boys, huh?

This is simply not true

To be honest I don't think fans have spent too much time worrying about Tom Herman, he moved on and LSU hired a very popular choice for half the money. Your dig about could not afford had nothing to do with Herman wanting to work at his dream job TEXAS.

Herman will do fine at Texas and I think "O" will do fine at LSU.

Both schools will have to recruit at a high level to compete with BAMA, does not look like your schools recruiting level is dropping. The bottom line is getting a quality coach to coach up elite players.
