Would be a really disappointing year for all the expectations and having 2 excellent upperclassmen in Maten and Frazier.

I would gladly take this, but beating that projection by 1 game would be big psychologically. 20 win season and .500 in the SEC would be great milestone steps for the program.

Best odds are :

vs Auburn (41%)
vs Texas A&M (36%)
vs Arkansas (31%)
vs Tennessee (25%)
@ Ole Miss (22%)
@ Miss St (21%)

So, they aren't actually favored in any, but averaging all the odds together means that they will sneak at least 1 or 2 out.

That 20 benchmark is always huge. Hit 20 in a conference like the SEC and your name will at least be mentioned in tourney talk.

I set the O/U for State's wins at 16 this year (KP has us projected 17) and 20 for next year.

Yep - also keep in mind this is all pre-SECT, so Auburn could get to Nashville and get a 1st round win and get to 20.

Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee and MSU should have their sights set on the NCAAs in 2018.

If this holds up:

NCAA Bids (4): Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas

NIT Bids (4): Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn

it's already disappointing, we should have comfortably made the tourney and maybe even actually won a game and now we'll be lucky to host an NIT game.

Fox needs to be gone, but I'm not sure our AD has the spine to do it.

Seems most likely, with Tennessee probably the closest on the non-NCAA teams to a bid given their current RPI spot, remaining schedule and current level of play.

I have no idea who the person would be, but with State, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee making at worst decent hires of high profile folks it seems patently clear Georgia could do the same.

Somebody will look at that job and see a place he can sign good players and win in a league that is trending up with a more consistent commitment to basketball.

Especially with the number of Freshmen Pearl is playing.....and I'm not talking about Freshmen who have no intent on becoming Sophomores.

5 of our top 9 players are freshmen and 2 of the others are sophomores. Only 2 seniors with meaningful contributions.

The future looks good, but I want at least the nit this year and maybe some bubble talk as well.

This seems more logical than the first on averaging % chance of win/loss.

I think if the league finishes like above, the SEC could be looking at 5 teams in the dance. You cannot keep a TN team out with the schedule they have faced this season if they end up winning 19-20 games.
