What would you grade Avery Johnson at this point in time?

Look. I've never followed basketball. At least on the college level. Even when Bama went to the Elite 8 over a decade or so ago. My dad is an avid spurs fan so I watch them a good bit during the season.
Anyway, I'm just curious.
EDIT: Meant entire time at Bama. Not just this season.

I have not been a fan of him at any point but he seems to be getting the pieces in place. Looking forward to a good rivalry with y'all again. Y'all are a year ahead of use. Whole time at Bama I give him a B+ and rising

He has 2 5* guards coming in next year. Bama is set to become Kentucky south.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but with the talent he is bringing in and his enthusiasm for the job, I am excited to see what he is going to do.

5/10 would not recommend

6/10
Solid backup point guard who brings good energy with his minutes

If a 31-22 coach is 5/10, what's a 39-47 coach rated?

7/10 ... offense is not quite as bad as grant's, but there just any flow to it ... and you don't need 5* players for that, which most bama fans think are needed ... defense better with the size he has collected so far ...

B+
Wer limited offensively and probably about to have another positive season ending with the NIT. Recruiting is an A+ and expectations will be higher next season. Anything less than 20+ wins and an NCAA birth will be a disappointment.

His recruiting has been an A+. His in season performances have been a B- or C+.

Blindly looking at records without any details about the situations and shapes of the programs is the mark of a retard

When Avery came in our team had no talent and when Bruce came in Auburn had no talent, I'd give both about a 7/10. Both programs seem to be the right track.

Bama had much more talent than AU had. AJ teams play good Defense, but they need a scorer. His first year he had one.

Just look at all he's accomplished!
A+++

Yep, no alpha dog to take over late. Key is developing it a bit, but it takes time.

He is doing fantastic this year in conference play considering he doesn't have a go to guy on offense. Alabama has a solid array of role players and he is getting it done, I'm impressed.
It will be interesting to see what he can do with a couple of studs coming in.
