Why is Alabama so strong?

The answer probably is aligned with:

Why is Saban so much more dominant at Alabama than he was was at either MS2 or LSIxU?

Our players and organization does the work that's required to win championships.

Pretty simple, really.

Saban had immediate credibility when he came into Alabama BECAUSE of the success he had at LSU. He came in, tamed the beast, and took over and told everyone to sit down and shut up. And, he learned a lot from his NFL stint too. He kept improving and keeps improving.

Saban would have the same success at any MAJOR school with resources and recruiting potential. He has made Alabama, not the other way around.

If you don't understand that Alabama's success is because Saban is a force of nature as think it is because Alabama is just great on its own, you are just laughable. Alabama has a great heritage and tradition and invested in winning. No doubt. But, Saban has made it what it is. There is really no other way to see it.

I think that had Saban stayed in BR, we would be talking about LSU's dominance....probably at least three more titles.Definitely titles in 2006 and 2007 Personally think that the 2 years with the Dolphins was an over the top education.

He was always known as a hands on recruiter. He knows talent

It's a widely known fact that Saban made attempts to get back to LSU after his gig didn't work out at Miami. As has been said in this thread already, "that ship had sailed" with LSU's early success under Miles. So, that somewhat blows the theory that ONLY Alabama would suffice for Saban - Saban actually wanted back at LSU because of multiple reasons - athletes in state, fan support and admin support - maybe not to the maniacal level of Alabama but certainly top tier.
