fricking weird
Other fans do it all the time, yet you attack them
So you know for a fact that Fiddlehead has done this?

Which Bama player (or former) gets defended as much as LF7?
Notice they can't answer this.

Derrick Henry would be the most recent answer. Many thought he was more of a product of Bama as opposed to actually a heisman caliber RB.
Mccarron being called a game manager really bothered many of you
I forgot the DBs name that y'all tried to tout as better than Mathieu a few years ago caused a ruckus as well. I think that guy is selling insurance now

This LF7 phenomenon is strange to me.
I agree. Imagine if Bama fans picked a mediocre and underachieving RB and said he's one of the greatest of all time in the SEC.
I mean, that Ken Darby RB, BEST RB IN BAMA HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baw don't make me get vigorous

All three combined don't come close to the way y'all defend LF.

I think Bama fans defended AJ and Henry in a similar manner, the difference was that weren't considered "once in a generation players". Really they weren't even considered above average until pretty late in their careers.
But I understand the media plays a large part in the hype machine and I much prefer a player that earns respect on the field before he receives the superstar label but more often than not the player has no control over this.

Why do LSU fans defend Fournette with such vigor? by Eli Goldfinger
Simple. Because ala-shame-a fans start threads attacking the man every 1.3 seconds....
And, BTW, WHICH LSU fans "defend Fournette wich such vigor" ??????? 50-100 on one random internet message board ????? Or AAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL one million or so LSU alumni and fans around the globe ???????
You would fail miserably in the demographic marketing research business.......

Javier Arenas is who I'm thinking of
And bullshite- the mccarron threads back in the day were like fishing with dynamite

The T-shirt did not bother me, the guy is learning to become an adult. I thought he handled himself and represented our school with the utmost respect. I thought LM Hirt him more than anyone else. To me LM did nothing to help in disguising scheme and that hurt in show casing his total talent/skill set.

Some LSU fans were saying he isn't even the best running back on the team this year.

It's not that they defend him...it's the gusto with which they do so.
It's like all LSU fans own stock in him and refuse to see his shortcomings.
It's because they had so much invested in him being, "the next Adrian Peterson" that they can't acknowledge flaws. How many times did you hear him called, "the next Adrian Peterson" in this board? 500?

True. The sheltering of Fournette doesn't come close to the gump insecurity over McCarron. That will never be rivaled. The tears they wept when McCarron was given pity votes at the Heisman ceremony was unbelievable. The guy was the definition of mediocre and gumps couldn't deal with it.

They have to defend something...
Head coach - nope, they tried to abandon him years ago
Athletic director - not even LSU fans are that stupid
Championships - none that can be remembered
Big wins in recent years - none to be found
Louisiana fiscal health - doesn't exist
Louisiana quality of education - not now, not ever
Louisiana ranking as a scenic state - no chance
LSU softball team does well - but that would mean being proud of the coach, who is a Florida alum, so that's out
Leaves them with no choice, so Fournette becomes the man. It's a lot like Vol fans and Dobbs. They don't have anything else out there.

And they were vigorous in their defense of him
The fact that he was even remotely considered for the heisman is one of the sole reasons many people today consider the heisman a joke
Mccarron is responsible for that

Why do bama fans defend bear bryant with such vigor?
The man was a mean, abusive, alcoholic, cheater. However, bama fans rush to his defense, name their children after him, tattoo his likeness all over their bodies, & worship him likes God.
