Give him 2.5m for 4 years. Would he leave Cal @ 1.8m? Would you give 2.5 for Martin?

It will take more than that. Martin just signed an extension at Cal.
And yes I would take him. He can recruit at a level that would put Mizzou a bubble team by year 2.

I believe the extension is good to 2018 and it raised his salary to 1.8m.

He'd be about 8th on my list at best.

Who's on your realistic list?

This. Name 7 other coaches we have a shot at landing that would be better than Cuonzo.

I would add Jeff Capel and Kelvin Sampson.

At this point, Bozo the fricking clown would be a step up. At least it would be more entertaining as the coaches drive into the arena and tumble out of their little bitty car.

Keatts
McCall
Mack
Archie Miller
Amaker

That's a start. I wouldn't be mad if Martin is our next coach. He just wouldn't be my first call.

Amaker is really the only coach from that group that has a better resume than Martin. It does look like this offseason there will be an abundance of pretty good mid and low major coaches Maybe some P5 coaches would consider a move as well, if Mizzou is really willing to pay them.

Cuonzo was a bit of a Haith-like coach IMO at Tennessee. Except he focused on defense instead of offense.

19-15
20-13
24-13

The last year he was there, he got his team to the sweet 16. But they had to get there from the play-in game because they were (like all his teams at Tennessee) slow starters with inexplicable losses.

His offense is a lot like Kelvin Sampson's. Grind grind grind. You can't find a coach who says he's a great X and O's Guy. They all talk about how his players love him and he's a great recruiter.

We could do a lot worse, obviously. We could hire Kim English or Jared Sutton. But I have some strong reservations about Zo.

We should have thrown the bank at Jamie Dixon three years ago. He had been trying to get out of Pitt for years.

what bout Jacobson at UNI? dude has done wonders there

also down with Keatts

McDermott is also interesting. So is Miller

chris collins would be interesting but i don't see him moving. Also don't see Mack or Amaker coming here, and I'm not sold on Amaker

Tim Fuller got a lot of credit for Keatts work at Louisville. I think he would be a great hire.

Gabe from PM suggested Mizzou contact Frank Martin and Kermit Davis in his Facebook chat last week.
Maybe add Dana Ford to that list.

Martin is a good coach with a long history of berating his players. It's why he left kState, and he's gotten suspended for it at South Carolina.

not excited about Davis

Martin's players love him. He left k State because he didn't get along with the AD.
