Great post.
With a real coach, I have no problem giving him a few years. I bet most fans will too.

Sterk, who's been shopping since December and has picked "his guy," announces a new coach who will "turn the program around."

I don't think it will take that level by to rebuild.
This roster is full or freshmen & sophomores that would be great as role players. As experienced upperclassmen with 1 or 2 impact newcomers Mizzou can be a NCAA caliber team by 2018-2019 season.
KA isn't going to land an impact newcomer, the next coach might.

A new coach could turn around the program in 1-2 years. He could do this by landing Porter and Tilmon from East St. Louis.
That seems impossible. It could only happen if we hire a top coach early or mid season.
As a fan I know this will not happen, but I wish it would.

It's astonishing how few people see this.
But we're in the pit of despair. No improvement. Worse than ever. 9,10,11 wins.
The behavior has been equivalent to the guy's sitting around having beers who can't talk geo-politics, instead they just say 'bomb em all'.
KA has set up a healthy foundation built with sustainability in mind. It's going exactly as I thought it would. Guy comes in, gets things cleaned up, gets quality core role players, organizes the file cabinets, sweeps up the darkest corners of the coaches offices, navigates us out of the water the pimp-daddy, back-alley deal maker captained us into, and then gets replaced by someone who can bring in a couple game changers and build off the sound foundation.

Porter and Tillmon are already signed. It would take their coaches getting fired to have a chance.
If that were to happen Tillmon probably ends up at SLU and Porter ends up at Duke/Kentucky.

Continuing to assert this doesn't make it true. The sum of our violations were 1) a no-show summer job which amounted to less than $2000 total for multiple players, 2) Fuller giving a name to Gant's mom for a contact to get a place to rent for which she paid FMV, 3) friends and family discount at a local hotel (which probably didn't exceed a discount they could have received from booking on Priceline) and 4) a GA giving car rides to the hotel from the stadium.
That's not a pimp daddy culture no matter how much you wish it was.

We have two SEC starters on our roster. And that's based on potential. It's wishful thinking to believe that a new coach will be able to get 4-5 players in two years that can immediately contribute. Especially with the current state of our program. I'm not trying to nit pick here, but I think it's important to recognize where our program is actually at. We need a complete overhaul.

I'm not really putting those things in my evaluation of their characters and the metal projection of the environment they built.
We're not going to get on the same page with this kind of stuff.
I'm fine with that.

Of course we're not going to get on the same page. I'm using evidence and you're not.

In all these threads I think I've used evidence, plus additional thoughts. I think I've been pretty fair and reflective on all the angles of this, which is really what I'm calling for from others -- to see this for what it is, in a complete sense, instead of being such miserably one-sided haters.
Haith tore up Miami. He was close to that Shaprio scum. Fuller is a known sleaze. My character evaluation and mental projection of the environment he created goes beyond the infractions you listed. I don't think it's unreasonable to do so.

I would love that for Mizzou! Jim Larrañaga is pretty thankful for what Haith left behind in Miami too.

Laranaga added an all American PG transfer that made Miami good.
Put an all American level when my scorer on this Mizzou team and it would be good as well.

Transfers??? That's the kind of stunt Haith would pull!
We don't want no stinkin' all American transfers at Mizzou! No sir.

Haith went all transfers. Other than Pressey and Bowers, Haith's second and third year players that performed well, were all transfers.
Hard to maintain success that way. Mizzou on the other hand has a ton of great players that came in as transfers.

What's amazing is that Haith was able to field competitive teams in year two and three with what he was left. And he knew he needed to win early and win often. The fans were done with him after going to the NIT.

I don't think anyone thinks KA is a higher level coach than Haith.
Plus Haith is more attractive to the majority of kids who play college basketball -- black, kinda vibrant vs white, old, dry.
It's not amazing that he fielded competitive teams while he was here, and did so quickly -- especially with what MA left behind. Pressey alone is a nice leave-behind, on top of that the program was in decent shape. MA left because he got his dream job. KA took over because shite had gone wrong.
I mean, dude. Come on. You're too good for this. Spytiger and the marine, obvious limitations. You don't have that excuse.

Haith going all in on the transfers was all about him getting a contract extension. He knew that fans didn't like his hire. I have to wonder if he would have taken a different approach, now seeing how things ended.
I also think he gets that extension if Dixon wasn't kicked out of school. That second team would have won close to 30 game with Dixon and Bowers healthy all season

Alden wanted him gone after the Miami stink and five game suspension. After Quin, it seems Alden's primary purpose for the basketball program was to avoid NCAA entanglement. He ran scared and wanted to get rid of Haith. He figured he could dump Haith after the fourth season, but Haith is more clever than Alden and jumped to Tulsa.
