At end of SEC title game with Bama way up, I remember Kiffin calling a running play for Hurts.

It reminded me of when Fisher called a running play with Matt Mauck against Fla with game well in hand and it cost him the rest of the season.

I'm not sure what O has to do with anything.

I hear they got Kenny Stabler DNA, and the clone will be coming in to start next year. It's what Darth Vader does...

What grad transfer will want to ride a bench in his final season?

Who? Usually a player (especially QBs) go the grad transfer route they want to start. I don't see anybody on the market that's going to take the job from Hurts

Someone that wants to potentially win a natty and learn under Saban and team for a future coaching position.

I wonder if Bateman and Cornwell are staying through the CFP? It's possible Alabama could have one scholarship QB for the playoff. That would be less than ideal...
Bateman staying through playoffs. Haven't heard whether Cornwell is.

But the rant says that he is overrated and we won in spite of Hurts. Now you are saying no one can beat him out?

Hurts is overrated by Bama fans. He ain't bad, he's actually done well for a true freshman, but you're fooling yourself if you think his team hasn't made him look 10x better and covered up his mistakes.

Now just because Hurts isn't an NFL level QB like some of yall like to pretend doesn't mean he isn't a good college QB, and Saban ain't dumb enough to bring in somebody when the current guy had done his job and led his team to wins all season.

I don't think I have...while he's far surpassed my expectations, he's still a true freshman and will make true freshman mistakes. He shows flashes of greatness and has made some outstanding plays so you just have to live with the mistakes that come; as you said, thus far, the team, particularly the defense, has covered up his mistakes.

What impresses me most 'bout him though is his maturity level...it's very unfreshmanlike. Thus far, when he's made mistakes, he doesn't seem to let it bother him; he's been able to shake 'em off and move on. Just hopin' that pattern holds for another couple of games...

If you believe Gary Danielson, Gehrig Dieter gave up being the star WR at Bowling Green to potentially win a championship and show he could contribute on special teams for NFL scouts.
