2013, a couple kinda, maybe, flukey things happened.

When schools like LSU and Tennessee hire coaches like Ed Orgeron and Butch Jones as the head coach, it's not difficult to understand.

recruiting and roster management. NO BS.
Other than QB, there isn't a single position on this team that doesn't have talent AND talented depth. It really is probably one of the most underrated things that Gus has done. Even at RB when we were crushed with dismissals/transfers, then we just roll out Pettway and Kerryon. Pretty impressive.
However, mismanaging (or failure to correctly evaluate) QBs in recruiting is basically calling for your own firing. If he can land Stidham and bring in another good HS QB we should have some decent options to choose from, moving forward. But Gus has fuuuuuuuuukt up QB recruiting so far (especially passing on Jerod Evans in favor of JF3).
