After 3 years? You mean after 2014? A&M has never given a coach less than 4.
The only coach prior to Strong that had less than 4 years at your school resigned to hold public office and was posthumously awarded the CMH.

Harry Stiteler? Raymond George? Hank Foldberg? Tom Wilson?
And that's just post-World War II.

You do realize that all of those "highlights" that you point to are recent advances in the program since joining the SEC in 2012.
Most of this being accomplished in a brand new conference, with a brand new coach, brand new facilities, and a new AD.
All you guys act like A&M showed up to the conference with a Heisman winning QB and new stadium. Most of these posters thought A&M wouldn't go the way of UK and Vandy.
A bunch of revisionist history on these boards. Some people are just plain dumb.

So it is all coaching? Of all the programs out there no one is coached well?... Ok so let's compare a longer period of time where all teams have gone at least through 4-5 coaches...How many NCs has the entire State of Texas won the last say 20-30 years? How does that compare to States like Florida, California, or even smaller States like Alabama or even Louisiana?
I don't know the numbers but I'm sure they aren't good for Texas as a whole in comparison. It's a myth that Texas players are any better on average than other places. So even the “it” school in that State (UT) isn’t guaranteed sustained success.

Damn.
I do not buy that Texas talent is not all that, this seems to be a reflection of coaching.

Texas is a soccer state now.

Texas talent is diluted.
AL only has to support 2 P5 schools
LA only has to support 1 P5 school
TX supports 5 P5 schools (Note: There are at least 12 DI college football program in TX in addition to the 6 additional Big 12 teams). Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss also have a great deal of TX talent.

This is all true, but something similar happens to the State of Florida. Several major programs and also others pluck in talent from there... still we've seen runs where all 3 major programs are great at the same time; or at least, save for a few seasons (specially from the mid 80's til not long ago) at least one program either won it all, played for it all, or was right there in the mix till the end. Several season even 2 programs fit that description. Hell we had a de facto NC game between to Florida Schools in 96 or so.
We've NEVER seen anything like that out of Texas. Never not even close... yet people keep acting as if they are the same level. Simply the good aren’t there. The sooner A&M fans accept this the easier it will be for them to accept their true place in the pecking order. I happen to think Sumlin is a decent coach and has made a lot of good moves to improve his program. 8-4 is a good season for A&M. Don’t act entitled, there is no reason for that. None.
Well threads like these don't help... it's cruel by the OP really.

Since WWII, the state of Texas has 4 CFB national titles - all from the Longhorns. Still, Texas only has 1 in the last 45 years (with a couple of very close calls in the mix). Both Texas and A&M have suffered from misguided university leadership trusting the wrong people to run athletics & football. The problem starts at the top. A&M, with its overtly racist and violently homoerotic sadistic traditions, has more issues to overcome, which explains why their only title comes from before the modern era of football began.

Compare that to The State of Florida.
Then let's talk about States that produce talent.
