This has been known for years. Bowden has claimed there was massive pay for play going on when he got there and trying to phase it out was part of what got him run out of town, not a team player

This is why I'm proud to be a Bama fan. We don't need to cheat to win.

who keeps a journal of illegal payments?
Everyone? Just because somebody is doing illicit things doesn't make you don't account for them.
However, you should probably be a bit more discreet with your illegal financial accounting.

Boy, that was an in depth article! Have you sent this to the NCAA yet?

Through a friend who was an SEC alumni president in B.Ham, I always heard the story was that a big AU booster owned a series of dry cleaners around the state & city. Players were directed to bring their clothes there for cleaning, and when they picked them up, the cash was in the pockets. TB found out & shut the system down so the story goes.

The 80's were a joke

Eric Ramsey Breaks His Silence on Auburn Football Controversy
By Max C Sconyers Jr , Correspondent Feb 20, 2011
On August 18, 1993, Auburn was hit with some of the most severe penalties in the history of the NCAA.
This was a direct result of a former Auburn scholarship football player, Eric Ramsey, secretly taping four years' worth of conversations in which Auburn coaches and supporters provided illegal cash and gifts.

Must be how he ended up with 5'5" running backs at the end of his career at Auburn.

Nah, just pointing out people bringing up old shot. I enjoy seeing Aubies and Gumps bond over such trivial nonsense
