Honestly I don't think the coordinator hires matter bc the hole they are in is just too deep. Hope to eat crow.

I honestly think these two guys will do fine and will put the right guys in place as part of their staff. I think we won't really really see it until next season when we know what our penalties are (hopefully) and you have a actual map you can recruit to and speak in certains, not uncertainty.

So Longo will not bring in FCS coaches?
Posted on 12/16/16 at 10:37 am to rebelcommodore
I don't know who he will bring in. I'd suggest doing a little research and seeing just how many successful coaches have come from the FCS ranks.

^^^ There are many for sure.

Some of yall sound like Clinton supporters the day after the election. Doom and gloom.

Let me introduce you to Longo:
2014 huh, awesome, let's see the fearsome bearcats results... Regular season looks good, but let's see how they play against the best competition they face:
Wow! So... when Longo (Who is being heralded as an offensive genius) goes up against the best competition in his division, he fails to produce offensively.
Ole Miss fans everywhere are pointing out that Gameday went to JMU last year so it's okay that he only scored one garbage TD against them and got BTFO. JMU was better coached and had more talent, so what did we expect?
Don't worry, the transition to the SEC will be easy, considering the SEC is the BEST CONFERENCE. The SEC is where the best defenses and teams in all of college football are.
Let's look at next years schedule!
I took the liberty, as you can see, of circling teams that have more talent or better coaching than us (or in a few situations, both)
All in all, I'm pretty pumped! At least we will score 80 points on the Mighty Skyhawks and the Ragin Cajuns!
Let's welcome the newest addition to Freeze's Venezuelan management style coaching staff!

Alot of effort for a wasted post. Teams lose games. You could put that same piece together for Freeze and OM. Hell you could do that with any team.
We aren't hiring their defensive coordinator. The one fact about those three games is they haven't stopped anyone. Regardless of how schematically good he is, could it just be the teams he lost to are just more talented? Could it not be the scheme he is running is making a lesser talented team look much better than it really is?

Gee Dores, you would wonder what my opinion of Freeze's coaching is

Yes, but, "Offensive Masterminds" should be able to put up points even in tough losses

The fact that they couldn't stop anyone meant that their offense had a lot of time on the field and had a ton of chances to put points on the board.

And what is nearly every other team in the SEC west if not more talented?

I mean more talented overall.
I'm really not concerned about offense at all.
Defense concerns me because McGriff hasn't called plays, hasn't made adjustments for the whole defense. That's why I'm hoping for a host of great recruiters that can coach up the talent as well on his staff.

Get a life. He is 7-3 in the post-season. that's pretty damn good especially if you know anything about nd state, Jacksonville State, or James Madison.

Neal sayin that Tray Scott the unc DL coach is going to join the staff after the bowl game.
Posted on 12/16/16 at 1:49 pm to UMRealist
Is he respected? Considered a good get?
Posted on 12/16/16 at 2:19 pm to AustinOMfan
Great hire if true. Known as a very good recruiter.
Posted on 12/16/16 at 3:25 pm to UMRealist
That is an awesome pickup. Unfortunately, the dline guys he is recruiting right now are all from the Carolinas.
Posted on 12/16/16 at 5:23 pm to rebelrouser
In case any of you didn't know, Tray Scott was a graduate assistant here in Hugh Freeze's first year. I have no idea what kind of actual on-field coach he is but he should be a very strong recruiter.
