Has won 9 of the past 11 matchups with Alabama when both teams are ranked in the Top 25. These are just numbers. Nothing to necessarily hold on to, unless you are a Tiger fan.

How do they play when the wind is blowing south-southwest at a speed of greater than 11 MPH but less than 14 MPH?

I'm not big on the whole "Alabama only beats bad AU teams" moral victory, but that's an interesting number.

I believe they have lost 1 of the past 1 of these.
Need to confirm that, though.

Auburn also leads the series since Bryant died, 17-16. Truth is, Bama hasn't really been in control of this series since that 9 game stretch from 73-81. Auburn's been in complete control twice (86-89, 02-07), but other than that it's been a tossup. Saban's only failure as Bama's coach has been his inability to dominate this series.

I wouldn't say it's a "toss up" right now. Alabama isn't doing to Auburn what they are doing to LSU and Tennessee, but Alabama has had the upper hand since the dynasty started. 6-2 since 2008, 6-3 since the streak ended and 4 of the last 5.
However, Auburn has been the biggest pain in the side (other than the 2 year Ole Miss thing) consistently since we got good. Malzahn always has a good plan for us.

According to the World Wide Leader, Bama has won 4 of the last 7 national titles and a loss Saturday does nothing to derail Bama's chances of 5 out of 8.

If he wins this week, he'll be 7-3, with two of those losses being absolute flukes. I'd say that's dominating a series.

Auburn wins by 17 in honor of Bama winning their 17th mnc in January.

Georgia is 8-2 during the same time period. The Barn is getting dominated by two teams.

The team with the better record has won 27 of the last 34 meetings (post-Bryant era).

It is somewhat true. It appears that since 1980, the Iron Bowl series is tied 18-18.
The years in which Auburn won the game, Auburn had a combined record of 182-42-2 (81.0%).
The years in which Auburn lost the game, Auburn had a combined record of 116-95-3 (54.9%)
That's a pretty big gap. The magic number for Auburn appears to be 71%. Auburn teams that win 71% of their games in a season are 13-1 against Alabama since 1980.
Meanwhile on the low end, it's 61%. Auburn teams that win just 61% of their games in a season (or worse) are just 1-13 against Alabama.
Those few Auburn teams that fit somewhere in the middle (62%-70%) split 4-4 in Iron Bowls.
While its logical for a series to follow this trajectory in some form or fashion, the consistency of it is what is amazing. There are just rarely upsets in this series. Great Auburn teams almost always win. Bad Auburn teams almost always lose. Mediocre Auburn teams sit right at .500. In a span of 36 seasons, only two games break from this pattern:
*The very good 1994 Auburn team (9-1-1) lost the Iron Bowl
*The pretty bad 2003 Auburn team (8-5) won the Iron Bowl
Outside of those two games, all 34 Iron Bowl matchups have followed the pattern. Very few series can be rightfully divided like that with so few outliers.

I agree. I just happened to be out during lunch break from work and the restaurant had ESPN on every tv. That stat was on the bottom ticker. I also saw one during the World Series that a team up 3 games to 1 had a 94% chance to win the series. We all saw how that one turned out. And during the NBA Finals, same story. It's been a strange sports year I must say.
