I stayed out of the fire Cross talk because it's the first year. Yes, I know Odom has taken over a lot of the DC responsibilities but someone's head has got to roll if for no other reason than to convey a message that they better stop playing like pussies.

Relax, they have the rest of the season to figure it out.

Ellarbee and Joe Bob the tight ends coach are the only keepers. The rest including BO should go away with the kicker. Down by 13 and kicking the extra point to trail by 12 instead of going for 2 to be down by 11 proves BO is not ready. At this point I would take Strong when he is booted from Texas.

Mid 4th quarter. Going down by 12 means Mizzou has to score 2 TDs, down by 11 is a TD, 2 point conversion and field goal.

Mathematically he loses nothing by going for the 2 points instead of kicking the extra point. If we don't get it, we still need 2 TDs. It was a coaching no brainer.

Meh... that's so far down the list of things.

Typically you don't go for the two point conversion down by 13 until you score the second touchdown.

Reason being if they kick an FG to go up by 16 now you're forced to get two, 2-point conversions instead of one if you're down by 15.

No,no,no they even give coaches the guide to keep them from screwing it up. There is never a circumstance that includes the other team scoring. You coach your team.

Game day coaching is always the little things. Which coach puts his team in the best position. How many times do we hear that a coach is gonna regret not kicking he field goal or not punting to flip the field. Its why some coaches are considered great game day coaches, like Cutcliff or Ruhl and why Miles is considered terrible.

We need better players on defense. Missing Scherer and Beckner hurts us. Newsome is simply gutting it out.

That was embarrassing

The d-tackles are nonexistent and the secondary couldn't cover a twin sized bed with a king sized sheet. Don't let me get into how bad they tackle.

I thought Cross and the scheme was the problem.

This is just my observation but the players that were at the heart of the boycott have played like dog shite this year.

Beyond that, Burkett and Lee are the weakest WLBs MU has had since switching to a 4-3 front in 2003. They have combined for the fewest tackles at the position since the switching from the 5-2 MU ran when GP took over. The defense funnels to that position. When they don't make the play, it falls on the safeties to mitigate the gain. Hilton, Sherrills and Wilson have missed a lot of tackles this year.

I think you have the Vermiel chart that was based on his preferences. This chart is based on the math. There are a handful of instances where the math negates the risk of the 2 point conversion.

2 point vs 1 point chart

It was part of the problem, but not the only one.

This reminds me of the 2015 Oline. They moved McGovern out to LT when they should have kept him inside just to have one side of Boehm they could depend on to at least get a few yards running the ball. But even if they did that, the line as a whole regressed so much it wouldn't have mattered much.

The 2016 defense misses Brothers as the tackling machine he was, but even if he was here this year, the defense has also regressed.

Why does this happen and how to stop it? If I knew I'd be Bill Belichick and I wouldn't even bother finishing this senten- Seattle. Seattle. Seattle.

Seattle.

It is (was) but we still need better players.

If Scherer, Beckner were playing and Newsome was 100% or his backup Hall was healthy etc. If we had our best players playing, we would be better. If we had better depth, or that depth wasn't also hurt, we would be better.

Chaniging schemes was a horrifically bad idea and a complete disaster. Also, we need to upgrade the talent level.

It's not one or the other. It's both.

It is hard to stop Dobbs when he is playing lights out like he was last Saturday. I don't know if we had anyone spying him.

Let's see how the defense does against Arkansas.
