Our season will be over at that point so why burn a shirt for 4 games?
If Sumlin thinks a NY6 Bowl is still in the radar, then start the guy. But don't use him if we're just going to use him during trash time. Get Red Lightning in there instead.

I'm off traveling for work so I hope not!

Just read on SDS that Sumlin had the convo with Starkel and his family and they are fine to burn the redshirt but Sumlin hasn't made that decision yet. Sorry no link.
You don't need to burn it unless he plays. If we are blowing out UTSA I'm sure Red Rocket gets some reps instead of Starkel. You don't need to "declare" who is redshirting though

I'm not certain he's wrong, but we had no idea at the start of the season how talented Williams would be.
Posted on 11/8/16 at 1:20 pm to Old Sarge
The problem is Williams is Big 12 talented- ie speed and making people miss.
We all saw in the Bama game what happens when he plays a big defense- his size suddenly is a liability. He will never be a "run the ball and pound it down their throats even when they stack the box" guy.
It is what it is. Knight having to run all over the place was always a liability. We now find out if Sumlin/Mazzone has any magic left in them, and if not we see how tolerant our leaders are to consistent 8 win seasons at best.

That's where Ford comes in. We need to utilize both backs and stack their strengths up against our opponents. Wear them down with Ford. Williams comes in to clean up. How often to we line up with both of them in the backfield?
Posted on 11/8/16 at 1:23 pm to AggieDub14
Absolutely
1. Use both backs
2. Hubes goes into deadly accurate mode
3. Our receivers catch errrythang
4. Profit???

Ford puts the ball on the ground too much, and he doesn't really pound through people like you think a back his size would to wear people down.
Our best chance now is Kirk and getting the ball in his hands.
And Ole Miss's backup sucking and LSU's players doing the whole "we lost to Bama so why continue to live?" thing their fans do.

Ok, but you're gonna need more than that.

Damn, that's asking a bit wee too much. He's going to have to get very streaky and he isn't known to do that.

That ain't happening. We finna lose.

I warned everyone about the stupidity of letting known trolls onto our board, especially LSU trolls.
Without looking at the username, I think the post in question could have come from half the posters on this board. You are way too easily rustled by who a poster supports.
Honestly, if we started banning people for "I told you so's" or for talking down our program, we wouldn't have any posters left

In the presser, Sumlin said Starkel will definitely play.
just to be clear, he didn't exactly. Hubenak is the starter
Starkel might play. But that depends on game situation if Hubes got hurt.
quote:
if Hubes gets hurt just let McQueen go in and give it the old college try
that wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team. If Starkel gives you the best chance to win, he plays. If the game striation means you can work around it - like it is in hand and Hubes is just dinged and should be able to play next week - put in McQueen.

I'm guessing he grabbed it off of rollbamaroll's Meltdown Time thread. And Yes.
