Go ahead and delete this. Pat has the projections saved anyway.

I'm officially worried that the world is ending tomorrow. Still quoting to keep you honest though :D

quote:

I think I'll have a little more optimistic prediction than the last couple of seasons, but still cautious.

Nonconference.

Wins: NW State, American, 2/3 in Cal. Tournament, TAMU-CC, Denver, SCSU, St. Francis

Tossups: USC, 1/3 in Cal. Tournament, Arizona?, at West Virginia

Losses: Can't really put a sure loss in because I don't know that much about our opponents in noncon.

Best Case: 12-0

Worst Case: 8-4

Likely: 11-1 (I think we'll lose one)

Conference schedule

Wins: South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, Georgia, Vanderbilt, at LSU, Missouri, Auburn, at Missouri

Tossups: Tennessee, at Mississippi State, at Ole Miss, at Florida, Alabama, Kentucky

Losses: at Kentucky, at Vanderbilt (that fricking court), at Arkansas (haven't ever won in that arena)

Best Case Scenario: 15-3

Worst Case Scenario: 9-9

Likely: 10-6

That would give us a 21-7 record going into the SEC Tournament and probably require 1-2 wins to have a decent seed. We SHOULD make the dance, but nothing is certain.

My predictions have always been based off of past performance and current potential. The potential for last season was unknown, but the track record was not.

This year, the potential is promising enough to overcome the track record of the first four seasons.

If we can get back in the dance, even as a 10 or 11 seed, I am cool with that. Then we could be pretty special in 2017-18 if you look at our roster

And before someone says it, it is NOT a reverse jinx attempt.

I genuinely want us to do well.

We all want to do well. My concern is that the NCAA hampered our guard play by not allowing us Corprew and Caldwell. We could have really used those two. I think our front line will be very good. In the 21-7 neighborhood, that is a fair assessment.

I think a top 4 league finish is not unreasonable.

So far, we're probably at least a game worse than I predicted in non-conference.

I'm a little late but... more confident this year than last? Even without the hindsight of a couple of games this year, last year's team was clearly better. And likely with a better staff.

we are likely a 20-23 win team heading into the NCAAs at a 7-10 seed. that is a success no matter what happens from here on out.

i hate myself for saying this, but i cant wait until next year.

I didn't think Kennedy was capable of making the dance last year when he choked away the chances in years 3 and 4. Now that he's done so, I'm willing to give them a chance.

I think it's ridiculous to expect 28 wins again, but I really like what I'm seeing so far, even with the narrow loss to USC. Williams is the real deal. Hogg is better, Davis is gonna live up to his All-SEC prediction, and TTM kinda went off tonight. I don't think A&M will win the SEC again (frick you, Kentucky), but they'll be in the fight and make the tournament.

Still on track, although my pick of South Carolina as a win in conference is looking VERY shaky.

If everyone comes back the 2017 squad could be salty

Not a whole lot of surprises so far.

Need a surprise on Saturday. Game will be around a pick-em and crowd should be in our favor, one of our best realistic chances for a resume win.

Not a good sign when every toss-up turns into a loss.

Not having either one of Caldwell or Corprew is our undoing this year. It is what it is. Shades of the 1980-81 campaign after a trip to the regionals. Massive front line and no PG. It killed us that year too.
