Well to be fair, you do have a piece of paper hanging on your wall certifying you as such.

Does conference tournament results count in the SOS?

Yes it actually does.

Auburn was #11 in the SEC in OOC SOS, so clearly it isn't even close to a "push" in SEC scheduling like you claim give we fell 3 slots

quote:

Does the rest of the SEC have to play weak Auburn this year?

Except AU isn't a "weak" opponent considering they have a winning record. We are ~top 80-100 opponent on paper which is neither good nor bad

Confront that fact and quit living in denial.

Do you even understand how they compute SOS?

Serious question because your statements suggest you could not tell me the formula. It would explain why you sound like such a dumbass

Auburn was 0-6 against teams in the NCAA Tournament field. Average margin of loss: 20.5 points.

Auburn definitely had a rough year. We had an issue with giving up that needs to be fixed

Our high points weren't that high and our low points were below zero low. We had a lot of moral victories this year to build on though. I fully expect us to win at least 20 next season and finish top 5 in the SEC. if we don't then we are just not meant to be a good basketball team bc like it or not we won't get much better than Bruce unless we can pull some upcomer outa nowhere

So the SEC conference is weak and hurts the SOS but Auburn's doesn't despite being one of the weakest teams. Do you want to talk out of both sides of your mouth some more.

Does the average fan know just the purpose of the SOS or do they know the whole formula?

Hogwash. That piece of paper is proof that they provided me a service that I had to pay a pretty penny for. I had a blast during my college days though. Don't get me wrong.

That is not what I said and is factually incorrect. 10/14 teams improved SOS ranking due to SEC plays, only 2/14 saw drops in SOS (UK/Tenn) both of which were top 20 NonCon SOS

Seriously, this isn't a difficult concept to grasp conceptually though, we played the shittiest teams in the conf more and we played the best teams the least which makes it "easier".

What you may not realize though is that there is as big a gap between Auburn and Mizzou in RPI as between Kentucky and Auburn. That's how shitty they were and LSU is close.
So imagine playing those shite teams 5x and not offset it by playing a great top end SEC team >1

For the record, I'm pretty sure Alabama had an easier conference schedule than AU pre SECT. Due to playing U.K./SC they jumped ahead. Overall they had a better non conf as well though to pair

I enjoy mocking you, "dumbass," but I'm not contesting this.

quote:

Seriously, this isn't a difficult concept to grasp, we played the lowest tier SEC teams more than most

We're in the lowest tier. We started 10-2 and ended up with an "18-16" record. Plenty teams played us miserable losers twice and others. Their SOS's should've went down as well. My whole point was that despite having a shitty SOS was that still lost a shite ton in the SEC. Focus on any less, and you miss the forest from the trees.

You're focusing on what's not there. Ive never said we purposely scheduled a shitty schedule so please get off that crap.

BTW Why are you complaining about the lower tier teams like Missouri bringing down our SOS? Those Missouri teams are the only reason we are a penis hair over .500.Maybe we should've lost all three times to them just so our SOS would be better. Be sure you tweet Purifoy that advice since you're the annoying fan that won't shut up about wearing arm- sleeves.

What you don't realize with your "lower tier" comment is that we aren't "lower tier". There is a clear gap between AUs ~#100 and #250 Mizz. That's bigger than the gap of U.K. To AU

I was updating my above post when you responded by Bama conf SOS was lower or about the same than AU until they played in the SECT

Nice little revisionist history. You are trying to argue something and clearly are wrong and now trying to backpedal

Great little speech though.

To clarify on the "lower tier"

Auburn is in the bottom for sure. There is about as big an RPI gap between Kentucky and AU as there is from Auburn and the "lower tier" though

If you are trying to shite on AU basketball I'm not going to argue. We sucked and were disappointing

Just don't try to #alternativefacts this shite about SOS.

We were #11 /14 in the SEC in non con SOS
We were #14/14 in the SEC conf SOS

OMG. Missouri is the lone outlier in the 200's and those frickers are the ones that put us out of the tournament.

And we were 16-18 and a losing record in the SEC. at least LSU sucked but with a decent SOS.

LSU is in the 190s, way closer to 200s than the #12 SEC RPI
