Richt will retire before he gets fired from the U.

well kirby will be here for at LEAST 5 years, which I imagine richt will too. If anything I'd think richt would retire before being fired.

Well, then roll with it how about it.....
Who gets fired and/or retires first, Richt or Kirby?

We are pretty fricking awesome to pay a guy $3.75m/yr for OTJT. Very patient and cunning approach.
I think they will both be in place for 4years. Smart may have things figured out by then and he is young, so I give the odds to him...

It's funny to think about the narrative a few months and even only weeks ago. It was all about what would happen if one of them succeeded and the other struggled, or mostly that they both were going to succeed.
Nobody thought they'd both faceplant. I saw that opinion exactly nowhere. But, that's the story so far.

Richt. The U has shown to get rid of coaches way faster than UGA.

I can easily see this.

I think it's a coin flip.
Both are alumni at their almamater, so that's an equal factor. ANd you'd think maybe that Richt's "good man" persona would buy him some extra time, but that factor is probably cancelled out by MIami being much more trigger-happy than a lot of programs when it comes to firing coaches.
Kirby probably has the shorter leash though, since he came in to win championships not rebuild, so i'd have to say Kirby.

They also haven't had the success UGA has had either the last 15 years.
-Coker won 80% of his games but outside of 2001 didn't really accomplish a ton, and was a flat out embarrassment towards the end.
-Shannon won 56% of his games there and didn't really improve them at all, had multiple national embarrassments including the FIU fight game
-Golden also won 56% of his games and had the program going nowhere.
It's easy to say "well miami has a shorter leash from their admin than we do", but what's gonna happen if richt wins ~70% of his games there? Then what?

This was the shocker for me. I remember when everybody thought he was the guy that would return them to their former glory.

Yeahhhh I think Richt will retire before Kirby gets fired.

Nobody gives coaches 1 yr to prove themselves .... or at least that used to be the case.
Richt gets fired first for a number of reasons. Kirby's going to be just fine.

Of course, prior to that, they had success that UGA couldn't even realistically dream of. Granted, while doing so, they were probably one of the most corrupt teams in college history, but still....

It would be hilarious if Richt got fired during or after the season he gave a million bucks to the school.

Maybe you will get fired from this board

What on earth, other than your hopes and dreams, has convinced you that Kirby will be just fine?
I understand giving a coach more than a year to prove himself, but would you care to name something tangible that Kirby has shown you to make you think he'll turn things around?
