An angry vengeful little Saban and co after a loss or a beat up team just coming off a tough victory on the road?

Either way we've got our work cut out for us, and hope TN doesn't lose by much if they do.

Unless we think Aggies go undefeated (yeah, I'll have some of that koolaid), then GO VOLS.

I can't see how a one loss Bama team is a better opponent for us.

If you buy into the "ooh we're mad and will play better now" model for Bama, our best chance of winning the division is a Bama loss.

ETA: After reading the above I realize it doesn't make much sense. Try this: Ags will need help to win the division. Bammers can be as mad as they want.

I don't mean to make fun of that model and there may actually be something to it. But I don't see Ags going 12-0 and a little help from UT would be good.

Bama loss. Would only need them to lose once more if we lose to them instead of twice.

Yeah I don't think this team is capable of winning out, so likely the Bama loss would be more advantageous. I think ole miss and lsu will be more of a matchup challenge for us.

Bama will be a hell of a challenge, but I agree. Chad Kelly is capable of tearing our CB's apart. And LSU, well... frick LSU. On paper the Ags should win, but until it happens I'm skeptical. A Bama loss, whether the Ags beat 'em or not, is a good thing for us.

UT win.

Or at least plays a long/physical game with them. That was another unsung part of the equation in our 2012 Bama win--they'd just been in an all-out war the week before vs. LSU on the road. There's always a bit of a letdown returning home from an emotional game.

Here's hoping UT gives Bama everything they can handle at Neyland.

Would probably rather face an undefeated Bama than one coming off a loss. Saban. teams pretty good when backs against the wall. I'm hoping for a tight game today.

of couse if we keep on winning... however unlikely... we really don't want to face Vols again. Not good matchups and we already beat them. Don't want to have to beat them twice.

the best outcome for A&M would be for at least 2 of Bamas secondary getting targeting calls in the second half either

If you genuinely think we have a real shot to beat Bama, you should hope they win. The only thing worse than facing Saban is facing pissed off Saban.

If you think we will lose and need Bama to lose 2 conference games, root for Tennessee.

Best outcome is a Bama loss. Whether they are angry or not is silly. We need help on the west because Bama is going to likely beat us, and we need them to take two losses so they don't have head to head on us.

I think we'd win a rematch. We'd have a different defensive gameplan, methinks.

Our best shot at winning the division is beating bama, and I don't see Saban losing two in a row. I'm pulling for Bama today.

Is it bad I don't care? I want to beat Ole Miss and LSU much more.

From a conference standpoint, we want UT to win so we have a security blanket with the extra Bama loss.

From a playoff narrative standpoint, we need Alabama to be "The best team in college football" and for us to go into Tuscaloosa and take them down. We need Bama to win today.

Well, let's look at the previous years' games for Alabama prior to playing us.

2012 - Beat LSU in Baton Rouge on the last play. A&M won comfortably over Mississippi State in Starkville.

2013 - Alabama had a bye week. A&M gave up 28 points to Sam Houston State.

2014 - A&M had a bye week, but had just lost badly in their past two games. Alabama barely beat Arkansas and Saban put the fear of God into them.

2015 - Alabama obliterated Georgia in Athens. A&M had a bye week.

Just saying, if the goal is national championship we want Bama to win so our win over Bama looks better.

If we win the SEC, that's the only "playoff statement" we need to make.
